Just go buy any Android phone. You can download an app that will translate with voice recognition in Spanish and not just Spanish but the Costa Rican dialect of Spanish. It can then be read on the screen or spoken to you in English. works vise-versa as well.

The free app comes packaged with Spanish and all the other major languages, if you want stuff like Thai or Somali you have to buy it.

The only proviso is that you have either a wi-fi connection or any kind of data plan like 2g or 3g on the phone.

Works great. It even translates Phuck OFF. heh.
