Yeah I thought it was a hoot-and-holler that the SL advertised there--to see an HDR ad is fall-down, stuff-spewing-out-the-nose funny. Worth the price of admission just to sit in the lobby watching the Gringa half of ecotourists turning various shades of purple...and their benighted lesser halves with that deer-in-the-headlights look. Ho ho

Ok, maybe a dumb question, but hey it's the newbie section. When i get seasoned you can yell at me. Why no CRT discount at the DR/Marlin? Are they above all that or do they just figure that they don't need any more incentive to have the mongers go there. I would think that it would be a sound business practice to give the discount. After all there is always competition, and your present wonderfulness can evaporate very quickly.

They don't see them self as a mongering place so no discount for mongers they are a CASINO. Only thing mongers do all the gambling there..

They're not in the market to cater to guys like us, who go down there quite a bit, or live there, and are looking for a deal, or at least know their way around.

Their market is the new guys, first time, weekend warriors who are there to drop the big bucks and buy the bar, while paying $10 each time they go upstairs.

Also, not like their business model needs any discounts. I'm still gonna go there, discount or no discount. They have the women. Gotta go every trip. Might not take all my girls from there, but the place is ground zero.

From a guy who just got back a day ago and likes to browse the HDR for new talent, CLN20 nailed. I met a newbie from Florida, never even heard of the Sportmans nor CRT. Gave him the CRT website and Pops phone number for next time and as I will report on my TR got me reported by one of the waitresses to their manager. Newbie has spent $3000 in three days just staying at the HDR and shopping for poon.

Like all places that disregard customers because they think they have the market cornered, the DR now has a dropoff in business. Obviously they are still very successful. The rise of the Sportsmens in particular is due to BIll doing the customer related things to build loyal customers that the DR ignored.

...And natch, Brother BKTuna is doing the same good things at Dunn Inn and Brother Mkink at La Amistad (minus the unescorted women thing).
