A lot of the girls will say , "chino" to anyone that looks Asian. From what I've seen, they mean this as an affectionate thing, nothing derogatory.

I wholeheartedly agree. Everytime I've been called 'chino' it's been in a positive light.

She also doesn't have to worry about getting Gaped :P

I agree the rooms at the DR are not that bad either. Have stayed there on all twelve of my trips. Would always be my first choice for what I like to do. The Sportmens Lodge cheerleaders can be a little over zealous! But to each his own it's your vacation enjoy!

I still wouldn't stay at the DR for free, even if they waived the gringo tax chica fee....
I especially wouldn't want a chica knowing I'm staying there..

I've never stayed at either the HDR or SL but I'll agree on the cheerleaders, it seems we're all entitled to our own opinion as long as it matches thiers.

I still to this day dislike much of the food there although kudos to the gents that suggested I try the Italian sausage (or were they brats?), that I did like

Beers are cold, very well priced, atmosphere is good as well, but other than that, I just don't see the big deal. I do like being able to watch NA sports, 45 channels of soccer can get tedious. If I ever meet more of the veterans (besides J0sie and LTS4 whom I've already met) I may feel differently

As for the HDR, I feel like I lose a little part of my soul everytime I walk in there yet I still do it several times a day, have never seen a room there or SL.

I'm just posting here for attention!

I'm hearing do to the bad economy and low season that the weekend

If you're a bit nervous, I would suggest the SL. Even though I have only been there once, it was very relaxed. So relaxed, that we already booked round 2 within 2 weeks of coming back. We'll be back in a month and staying at the SL again. It's like an all-inclusive, you don't even have to leave if you don't feel like it. We did the DR and the girls are more aggressive than at SL. SL, is a laid back environment and gives you time to shop around. When did you plan on going?

Go back and do a search of the Prez. Over the past couple of years, they've been giving many members (and their chicas du jour) problems. It seems like they do not have too much interest with "accomodating" CRT members anymore. Oh well...

I have stayed a the Presidente two times,Balmoral twice,DR once. The last four times I haved stayed at the SL. Of all of them I prefer SL. But you must book way in advance to get the room of your choice. Everbody like me has their favorites, depending on the persons likes and dislikes. If you have the oppurtunity to go to SJO many times as I have you will find your Eden. The SL is more relaxed to me in that every thing is almost right there. If not the DR and KL are just a short taxi ride away. Enjoy yourself as I have in my lifes journey. :D

Whine about "cheerleaders" all you like. The occupancy rate at SL speaks for itself.
