If you think it is bad here now than wait and see how intolerable it becomes after you have spent time in Colombia. This hobby has a way of changing the way you view things and can very quickly become an allout addiction.

Im 43 yo have a good business, nice home and very bright future but all my efforts here in the States are focused on my work and family. There is no way I can go to Medellin for 2-3 weeks and spend time with gorgeous 18-23 yo Paisa cuties and than return home and be content with some 40 plus yo gringas and the myriad of baggage that comes with them. Thanks but no gracias ! I prefer to just book and plan my next trip, work on my Spanish and focus my efforts here on my work.

You have to be very careful and stay focused or you will quickly lose sight of everything else and be 100% concentrated on "the hobby". I am very lucky because I am in a situation that allows me the money and time to travel frequently, albeit not as often as I would like. I know that there are many CRT brothers here who would love to have my situation and believe me I know how lucky I am.

Anyone else have any ideals on how to maintain focus when stuck here in the good ole US of A ?????????

Don't get me wrong, i love this country. But now I am working to travel to Colombia and CR. The worst part of it all is that I speak fluent spanish, so the language barrier is non existant. I don't know if I will ever get married again.

I read his story. That's exactly what I'm trying to avoid. I'm going june 11, i want to meet some of you guys, because I want to learn and get slapped if I become stubborn like that. But you guys are right, it seems here that the less you care, the more they seem attracted to you here. I think it's an aura we give our or something. I have 28 days until touchdown.

I get that you become wiser as you get older, but don't think for a second that we don't know what's up... :idea:

I think the Gulch should be much more exclusive. Anyone who leaves a tip in excess of 25% should be banned......er, Berk?

I would also ban big, square-headed, young Puerto Ricans, and people who excessively use emoticons. Also, blind guys should simply be stopped at the airport before they can get themselves into trouble. Oh yeah...dwarves. Gotta keep Wee Man out of the HDR.

Also politicians. Lawyers. Accountants. Security experts. Hospitality workers and people with the name Macaula.

I AGREE... especially at bar in the HDR. My 600 colones a.k.a. the famous 42% tip was way the hell out in the sticks/hills northeast of SJO sooooooo.... it doesn't count!
