Did you get full-service in downtown Baltimore for $42? I haven't been to Baltimore for 4+ years, and do not recall a thriving prostitution scene (but wasn't really looking). Still, I can't help but think any whore is the U.S. who is going to take care of you for $50 or less is either absolutely disgusting and/or a toothless crak whore.

Look sir... here's the deal. I too have been intimidated by big crowds of loud, drunk, boorish gringos (many of whom are my friends) while at ZB. Sometimes it seems hard to get past the Wall of Testosterone to get to the girl of your desires. That's why ZB has a bar, good cigars and chill-spaces. You will, if you take some time, get to the whore-d'oeuvres.

Cheap beer? I feel you, man. I'm not a wealthy guy. I suggest either a.) bringing your booze with you in your checked baggage b.) buying liquor or beer at a local grocery store and having a few tighteners in your room before going out. You'll drink less of the high-priced stuff that way.

Yes, if you go where the ticos go, you'll find cheaper beer and lower-priced poon. However, the surroundings will often be dirtier, sleazier, nastier and more dangerous than you might prefer. I've already given you one recommendation for cheap beer and poosie...here's a couple more.

Okay, how about the little bars in the NW quadrant, near the CocaCola bus terminal? There's hookers there too...and you can get the job done in the calle 6 pensiones for around twelve bucks. Some nice "diamonds in the rough" there, but you'll have to do some scouting.

Decent massage parlors (Oasis,, Kama Sutra others) are out in the Paseo Colon area, about 20 blocks straight west of the del Rey. Twenty bucks per hour? Nice little restaurants all over that neighborhood too.

San Jose, Costa Rica ain't Baltimore, to be sure. Maybe you can find what you're looking for nonetheless. And BTW, if you've got the street-smarts, the balls and the ability to tell if a girl is over eighteen, you might even find a nice streetwalker to meet your needs. A sixer bought at Mas X Menos and a $10.00 street whore...problem solved!

Contrary to most peoples view around here there are many many places besides Zona Blue. Among my favorites are the several places in the Paseo Colon area. Morning is the best time and Veronicas was particualy good last trip. Alos have a favorite at Saphires. A good low end place is The Dungeon and one day Europa 2000 had some cute girls and outhers nothing. Happy hunting.rbc100
