Hopefully I'll get to CR the last week of the year. Juggling the K*ds Christmas and my own selfish desires ....... Borrow and go.....

4 bars I visited tonight - each with a set of decent or not decent or hot ladies. I dreamed that if I was in CR i would have a conversation with all the hotties. In FL its a lame game. Too much judgement on a glance. Looking forward to booking a trip! The CR experience seems worth the effort. Soothing to the soul.

Btw- I estimate that every massage I get extends my life by 1 day. Good odds eh? Life is fleeting, and I am running to the grand finale. Hope to meet some of you soon.

While I'll let the veterans chime in with more concrete advice, it doesn't seem like you are picking a good week to visit.

Last week of the year Without a doubt the worst possible week to be in San Jose as a monger! Actually it is maybe tied with Samana Santa (Easter week) as the worst!!! The vast majority of Ticas are at the beach with family and friend for the holidays!! Those that cannot afford the trip to the beach or waited too late to try finding a room at the beach will still be spending the time with family. All (almost) of the Nicas, Colombians, Panamanians, Dominicas will be in their respective countries with families! Christmas is Latin Countries is the time when everyone that possible can is with their families!!!

All that said:

The Tico MPs will all be open and most of the chicas will be working!

The desperate indies at the Rey and SL will be there-just don't expect to see many real hotties nor large numbers (I mean like very, very few chicas)!!! Also some of those that went to the beach the week before Christmas will be returning - Broke and looking to make some money!!

On the plus side, there will be very few mongers here vying for the even fewer chicas!! Also there will probably be bargains to be had. Another plus is downtown SJ will not be crowded! In fact it will be almost a ghost town!!

Obviously it is even worst for a newbie who does not know his way around the city (to find the MPs) and who has no contacts with whom to set up dates ahead of time. For most of us who live here it really is actually kind of nice (quitter and less crowded) and we have no shortage of chicas (our regulars)!!

My recommendation to a newbie: If at all possible, FIND A DIFFERENT WEEK TO MAKE YOUR FIRST TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BB is absolutely correct <sir> on what he wrote - if that week is the only way you can get down for the forseeable future, book it - but any other date other than Easter week is better.

OTOH, some guys have posted they had a good time during this time period - but its a crap shoot and one I would never suggest for a new guy

bud, Christmas week in San Jose is better than the remaining 51 weeks in my house! Hell, spending a week in San Jose cleaning the bathrooms at Pucho's is better than the regular week in my house-life!

1. I don't post much anymore but FWIW, you need to be chatting up and hitting on the hotties at your local
watering hole, nothing ventured nothing gained. You just might be amazed at what can happen with a little effort.
2. You said" borrow and go", if you are borrowing $$$ to go to CR, rethink what you are doing. You apparently have a family to support in some way, borrowing $ to chase the punanny is not a good idea.

I booked the ticket today for 12/26 to 1/2.

Goals -
*meet Ticas or others (chicas)
*Go pacific fishing on a boat
*Visit the countryside - a farm, a forest - an adventure.
*EAT well with fresh food
*lots of massages
*visit dentist
*visit dermatologist.

Every day will be different- any suggestions to the above, please respond!

Make an appointment with a dentist and a dermatologist now, because many will be closed during that week. You may be a little disappointed with the "fresh food", unless you really like Latin foods.
