Here's the place: http://www.casaponte.com/

I'll break it to you gently: The women of CR are Ticas; we play with Chicas, though many of them are Nicaraguans or Colombians. The current best place to meet Chicas in Jaco is the Cocal ("search" for details).

Yeah....its hot, the town is dirty, the beach is ehhh - if you are going to CR mostly for CHICAS you are far better off in San Jose - you should do a lot of board reading; lots of good info here - better yet, if you have the time, go to Jaco for a night or 2 - and split your time in with a few nights in San Jose.

PS Good job Jazz :)

I would highly suggest checking with Casa Ponte about their guest policy as many hotels in Jaco will not allow you to bring back guests especially chicas. If they don't allow guests, I'd consider changing to the Cocal Hotel or the condos on the same property, the Vista Mar. Both are excellent choices although with a group of your size, the multi-bedroom condos would be my recommendation.

The Beetle Bar Hotel does provide hourly rooms and there is no more cover charge, but it's still dead. The Cocal Bar/Casino/Hotel is where the majority of the action can be found in Jaco these days.

I appreciate all the feedback....they are totally fine with chicas
coming back to casa ponte...I know that much for sure...so the general consensus
is the hotel Cocal for chicas...do you know how hot they are and what the rate is?

Intel from last weekend said the girls were high quality but asking (and firm) on $100 for an hour and more for longer with $200 being normal TLN rate asked for. Negotiations, as always, can vary and of course, YMMV... Friday and Saturday nights are the prime time with lower numbers of chicas available during the week.

How long till your trip? If your only going for the chicas and that alone I would just stay in San Jose the whole time.

Had clients visit the Beetle Bar both Fri and Sat night last week and said it was dead. Free cover hasn't lured anyone back it seems but it probably will as the bar itself is pretty nice, especially if they get the pole dancers going again. Might be worth sticking your head in but doubt it will be back to the 'hub' of the action anytime soon.

Monkey Bar has been hit or miss with mostly late night action. Lot of the girls will also show up at 'The Loft' (big pink building downtown, can't miss it) later at night as well. Cocal is definitely 'the place' right now.

For zip lines, the Los Suenos canopy tour is my recommendation unless your really physically fit and enjoy a more 'rapid' decent. That one is located just before you get to Playa Hermosa, on the beach side just past the last mountain curve. Not recommended for anyone not in peak physical condition.

ATV tours I recommend the place just east of KFC (on that side street) about 30 meters. Nice waterfall on their tour...

Fishing, not real up on thanks to my seasickness, but plenty of places that book trips in Jaco. Shop around and bargain with them, might be a deal but be prepared for some steep prices.

While in that area, always a good idea to go on down to Manuel Antonio. Might even do the ATV tour there as there are some good ones not to mention the beautiful beaches where you can actually swim in the Pacific, the plentiful and usually good places to eat and the wildlife. It is also the jumping off point for many white water rafting trips.

Edited to add: If you like wildlife and want some good pictures of monkeys, sloths, different birds, iguanas and maybe some deer, I always recommend hiring a guide to take you through the back road of Manuel Antonio. Those guys know where the animals are and carry a spotting scope that they can take pictures through. They also explain a lot of interesting things on the hour or so walk. Especially with a group, bargain with them. They may want $20 each but with a group, I'd go no more than $60 or so...

couldnt have said any of this better...great summary

of course I always would recommend stopping by Los Suenos Marina, even if its just to have a Mojito and check the view.

Four nights in Jaco would be a bit too much for me... two nights is about my limit. I enjoyed fishing out of Jaco... there are relatively inexpensive all-day fishing trips available with boats that operate off the beach. Los Suenos is a nice place to take pictures, but a little too rich for my blood to do anything else.

You will meet lots of ticas in Jaco... as well as everywhere else in Costa Rica. In addition to ticas in Jaco, you can expect to meet Dominicanas and Colombianas as well... especially in the p4p venues. Although I like ticas a lot, I prefer Colombianas.
