Chime in with an agreement that Hotel Jaco is a nice place for what you are looking for. I have done it a few times and they are very nice. Great rooms and nice location. Pool is small, but nice. Restaurant and bar are great (a little high, but not abusive). I have said this before, but when I was there with a sugarbaby from Mexico, the bartender/waitress had a birthday party and invited us. They got trashed - it was funny the next morning with the waitress hiding out behind the bar with a massive headache. All great fun. People make the place even better.

Yeah I did some in person recon there in early March. Ramon was very gracious and let us check out the rooms and the property. I probably will eat more at some of the Sodas and dinner at a list of good reviewed restaurants on Pastor. Got to budget on food a bit. Can you make mixed drinks in your room easily (i.e. ice, fridge for juices, etc.)?

Yes, I do believe that is doable. They have a small fridge and I think it had a freezer in it. Not a lot, but a little.

Cool, I'll buy the booze at the Duty Free shop at SJO to get the best prices as alcohol is relatively expensive in CR. Are some of the Sodas within close walking distance from Hotel Jaco, say the most 15 minutes? Also, how far is the nearest Mas X Menos and Bank from Hotel Jaco?

Everything is within a 15 minute walk from Hotel Jaco. Not a large place and it is just on the outskirts of the main part of the city (where everything is). I walk it all the time and walk to the grocery store or one of the 5 banks there. All within walking distance. Now, keep in mind, if you are not accustomed to warm, humid weather then you may break a good sweat on the way.
