I'm heading down to CR this week for a last minute trip. It's my first time and I'm willing to spend a little extra money to make sure things go smoothly. I've reached out to groups like Jaco VIP and others but they seem a bit reluctant to talk about ticas (I guess that makes sense lol). Are there any groups or travel guides that you know about that help arrange trips?

You would spend a LOT more money doing that. If money is no object get a nice room at the Cocal from Wednesday through Saturday. Hang at the bar and chat to the ladies that strike your fancy. Tell them what you want to do, pay the freight and enjoy.

Harddrive has it exactly right. You will have no problems staying at Cocal. Due to CR laws, any service you use will just send you to Cocal to find your own.

Costa Rica law does not prohibit transactions between the parties directly involved. If a third party profits from the transaction (pimping) the third party can go to jail. This is why Jaco VIP and the like are reluctant to talk and will be of little use in that area.

If you are going direct to Jaco from the airport contact Vanessa to pick you up at the airport and take you to the Cocal. You can ask her for any advice on the way there. She knows why you are going there and will help you.
