What is a good hotel on Jaco Beach to take a working girl Tica you already know. If you are not interested in picking up any new ones while there. It should have nice clean rooms, an in room safe box, a pool and a good restaurant with alcohol.

I like CROCS for that however I walked thru there on Memorial Day weekend and Casino is closed and so is the indoor bar. However the pool and pool bar was open.

Hotel Oz.
With Bar Oz nice big lively bar/restaurant.
Great fun waitstaff.
Right off main street so right there
to easy visit other restaurants or shops etc.
Beach is less 1/2 block down its same side street. Easy go sunset walks.
Small pool in a walled area.

Their website looks good and says $70 a night, a/c included, good looking pool and restaurant selection, their menu items are not overpriced for a nice hotel by the way, either.

The other hotels mentioned range in price from a buck 'n a quarter to over 2 bills, nicer, fancier, but Clarita's looks plenty nice enough for my refined yet frugal tastes.

I KNEW the Cat would find the best deal!!!

First, my last visit to Claritas was around 2010.

At that time, the AC in the room was on a 30min timer, so you had to keep getting up to twist a knob. The coffee maker had no filter basket. Minor inconveniences.

It was cheap and funky. The bar/restaurant was great and a fantastic place to watch the sunset. At the time, there was a beach volleyball set up and also a tether ball (cement filled tire with a pole sticking out of it). Chicas, locals and tourists, would use it as an adhoc dance pole. It made for great scenery.

Yes a good place, and the refrigerator is a plus. I used to stay at the Best Western by the bus terminal until it went all inclusive. If your girlfriend behaves take her to Los Suenos Yacht club for lunch. Also, Clarita's has a special where you get one night free with 3 or 4. Check the details.

I like Hotel Jaco. Right on the beach. Great pool. Most rooms are very nice, one bedroom suites with a full kitchen. American owned and totally guest friendly. Very attentive staff. Price when I came down in April was about 1/2 the price of a Cocal room. I just checked and it looks like rooms run between $100 and $150 per night in August. Not as cheap as Claritas but a much nicer room.

Located across the bridge from the Cocal, about an 8 to 10 minute slow walk.

Only downsides:

(1) Restaurant / bar is good albeit a bit expensive.
(2) I stayed for two nights and housekeeping was only included with the checkout day. I would call to book and see what the housekeeping options are.
(3) Totally non-smoking property if that is important.
(4) I don't know why but they have outfitted a lot of the rooms with two queen beds.

HDR had some double queens, I always got them if I could back in the ancient days.

It was funny because desk clerks always assumed I had a friend staying with me, they didn't understand why I wanted them by myself...

First of all if I pounded a ho or two and the bed was funky I could sleep in the new fresh clean bed.

Second, they were moveable after moving the nightstand in between, so I could get two queens together for plenty of room with especially wild hoz, and plenty room for threesomes...

Maybe they know about this, lol...
