Where is a good place, or is there a good place to change a couple 20 mil bills for 20 one mil bills? Would the colonial do it, or how about a bank? If I go to the bank would I need my passport even if I'm asking to exchange local currency? Would the bank change a fee? I'm thinking it would be good for tipping, taxi, beers, etc. with out having to wait for change.

Its easier to just buy a drink that you would normally pay for anyway and give them a 20k note. Next drink give them another one. I do not keep a tab anywhere so I am constantly paying for drinks.

That's good advice, and you can also ask the bartenders to give you change in small bills. They probably have enough in the tip jar too.

and when you exchange money, ask them to give you amore smaller bills. it'll be a huge wad of bills to carry but once you get to the hotel, stick it in the safe

The cashier@ the Hotel DelRey will do it for ya, I've done it there a few times, not all one mil notes but a variety of 1's & 2's $ 5's. It's my 1st stop when goin in on a busy night. Ever since they went to the centralized cashier system it can take forever to get change-even longer than before. No matter what bar you are at, the bartender must leave the bar with your check & money to get change. Now I always have exact change for the round of drinks.
