I have been to CR about 10 times in the past 4 years... and liked it.
After reading the recent trip reports I am having misgivings about my upcoming trip in NOV to San Jose
From the forum I have begun to get a vibe that the quality has gone down a lot in Del Ray and SL.
So I was wondering if it is worth splitting my trip into 2 trips..USA-PANAMA(7 days) and then on continuing to the second part (7 Days in CR)?Or should I rely on my previous contacts in SJ and hope that the trip is good..
I have never been to Panama as of now but seeing the trip reports it seems to be a nice place:)
Thanks in Advance

If you've never been to Panama, go. P4P aside, Panama City is a much more interesting place than San Jose with plenty of things to see and do. If you like beaches, Farallon, on the Pacific, is only 2 hours away from Panama City.

If you do decide to go to both places, try to book with COPA airlines. COPA allows its passengers who book a final destination through Panama City (PTY) to take extended layovers in Panama City without paying for another ticket.
