I totally agree. As a somewhat "young" newbie myself.....I booked my stay at HDR my first night and SL my last night...all I can say is that SL was a ghost town by 9pm. Nice establishment and won't knock on the SL.....but being a first timer....the HDR totally blew my mind away. You don't have to take anyone's words for it...do lIke what I did and stay at both places and judge for yourself. Just have fun and be safe!

Although I'm a dedicated cien member when on vacation, when I lived there for 2 years (2007 - 2009) I had a job in CR that paid $1800 a month. Decent income for CR, but not conducive to too many cien sessions. I quickly found many MP's off the beaten path and made acquaintances with numerous chic's, HDR afternoon girls could be had back then for $50 to $60 and numerous mp girls gave me their phone #'s, I mostly paid $50 to $60 per session, I had several that would do gfe all night sleep over for that!

On rare occasion I would spend $70 and on occasion an incredible "10" would get $80 out of me, but when u live there you have the time and resources (right BB57???) to enjoy these bargains, and lot of the ladies will accept your offer knowing there will be more sessions, they know and trust you and they know that's all they're going to get out of you, bird in the hand if you will.

When I retire there, planning on Feb next year, I'll revert to my old ways, but when I'm on vaca I pay, and so far, after my rigid interview process, I have always got my money's worth, some of my old favorites delivering 3 hour sessions of non stop Olympic poundings, blowings and eatings....

Already planning for another trip next month

A lot of good advise, a lot of highly opinionated advice, a lot of advice that works for one person but maybe not for any other or few others, and some advice that I personally consider not very good. But what it all says loud and clear is:

We are ALL individuals with a different mind set, a different financial situation, different ages, different amounts of mongering experience, and difference expectations. In other words no two guys are ever going to totally agree on what, who, where, or how much is best. Each person should try all or as many of the different venues as is possible, try different types of chicas in the different types of venues, and pay what you are comfortable with. Yes many independent chicas are (in my opinion) over priced for a third world country such as CR. I just have a problem with giving a chica the equivalent of the average one week income in CR for one hour of sex. I totally understand that I live here and have the advantage of knowing well over 100 different places so it is much easier for me to find high quality for a much lower price than it is for the guy who is here for a week or two a year, or is here for their first time and a short time at that. I kind of understand the rational of "half the quality would cost me 2-3 times more in the states", but guys often forget all the other costs involved (airfare, hotels, etc.) which when divided by the number of chicas one does on a trip can often double the cost per chica.

I have discussed this before but (sorry Netgem) I just have to explain that the 1-10 scale guys use to rate a chica is extremely subjective. My friend Netgem and others are always talking about the "10s" in the REY, or in the SL, or this or that MP. Based on my scale I have NOT seen what I would truely call a "10" in any venue in Costa Rica. Yes, there are a few ticas (Costa Rican females) that I would call a "10" but you will NEVER find them working in any of the normal venues, not even the so called "high class VIP escort services. Guys use to talk about all the Colombian "10s" in the REY!! Those guys had never been to Colombia. Those chicas were/are here because they could no longer get work in Colombia because of the younger, hotter competition there. Based on my scale, I very seldom have ever seen even a "9" in the more popular places here. BUT, YOU may see a lot of "10s" (based on YOUR scale)!!!

What I am trying to say is: Come here with an open mind, visit as many different places as possible, talk to as may guys (especially guys who live here or have visited here many times), pay what you have to, and can afford to, to have all the fun you can, and experience as many different chicas as possible. No matter what you do or who you listen to, you WILL MAKE MISTAKES in some of your choices but you will also find some true gems!!! There are NO absolutes, no "one way" to do this thing we call mongering! We are all individuals with different ideas, desires, needs, and expectations.

Just a couple of other opinions:

Zona11- yes it is a little more expensive but it has very nice facilities, it is a "all in one" location, it is "gringo" (owned by and caters to), and (right now) it has an outstanding line up of chicas. It is also a very good example of what I was trying to say earlier: yes I can find (know of) equally hot chicas in other places at a lower price. BUT for the new guy with limited time, paying a little more for easy access to a great time is not a bad thing! Hell, right now there are several chicas there that I have no problem paying more for the "experience"!!!!!!

Del REY: Yes, I am in the "do not like the place" group, but there was a time (20 years ago) that I loved the place. It has been the "go to" place in Costa Rica ever since it opened 23 years ago and whether you like the place or not there has to be a reason for it's popularity over all those years. I personally think every newbie should experience the place, and other places, and then decide what works best for you.

Backpage: A lot of negative opinions on here, some from personal experience, some from "hearsay". Yes, there are some that are ripoffs, scammers, even theives. Yes, there are some that are escort services that do a lot of bait and switch and are way over-price for what you get. BUT, I personally know about 15 chicas who regularly advertise on Backpage and all offer a great experience and service. All that said, for the guy visiting here for the first time and for a limited time, and without the experience to "read between the lines" and know which ads are "fake" and which ones are "real", I would say "Why, there are way more hot chicas in the venues that have been mentioned and recommended in this thread than you will be able to do during a short visit here".

In my last post I made one statement that I feel I need change a little.

"There are no absolutes" is not totally correct!

NEVER pay an independent up front. Once she has the money she is in control and the experience will almost always go down hill. Even if she is so hot that you think you just have to have her, in almost every case you will end up regretting it. Just remember she is far from being the only hot chica out there and if she insists, just say, "NEXT"!!!!

Always trust you gut feeling when dealing with a chica. If you are getting negative vibs, feel there is just not a connection, or she is laying down restrictions that go against what you want, again "NEXT"!

Always talk to the chica to get a feel for what to expect, what she is into, what she will do and not do, before agreeing to any session. Even in MPs where many guys think it is just "point and shoot", NEVER go to the room without first talking to her first.

Once again, BB57 has astute observations on this hobby of ours. I admit I probably am loose on the 9 and 10 ratings. I guess some guys will only give a girl a rate that high if she can qualify for the Miss Universe competition. For me, if she's pretty, has a hot NATURAL body, clean, sweet and easy to get along with, no fake or sagging breasteses, not fat or skinny, good smile, plump rump, I'll rate her 8,9 or 10 by my standards. If she delivers a superb GFE session, and I rated her an 8 or 9, I'll upgrade her to a 10!!!!
