Yes free. And a mobile app. I have it all set on the phone during taxiing to the gate. Pull the phone when I get near the kiosks.

Only difference is you need to stop at customs on the way to the outer doors. After the mobile passport kiosk (right with the GE kiosks). Scan the bar code on their reader. Wait for the green light and out the door

I wonder if a stolen phone could be used for illegal entry ... they MUST have thought about that though.

I like the convenience factor, but it looks like a target for criminal activity. Once it catches on, our phones may become more prime target when traveling.

Considering you have to download the app and set a passcode, thieves would need a lot if your information to use it

If you are GE you're automatically part of the TSA Pre program. You have to flash your GE card for domestic flights OR show your boarding pass which, if you entered your GE number when you booked your ticket, should have TSA PRE printed on it.

I was told by more than one TSA Agent, the 'TSA PRE' stamped on your boarding pass was randomly generated. Meaning sometimes I don't have to take my shoes & belt off if I was randomly selected & I do have to remove them if I wasn't randomly selected. Keep in mind this is LFT. a regional airport with only one lane/line to enter the gate area.

*IF* you have a {whats-it-called} number and enter it into your airlines' system, then you are always TSA-Pre (if your airline participates).

If you don't have a number, then you may randomly be selected by whatever criteria they use.

I have a TTN (Trusted Traveler Number) that is listed/entered on my UA profile/account. More than 1/2 the time I do not get 'Randomly Selected'! Again it might have to do with flying out of Lafayette!
