I am going to San Jose from 12/17-12/22. I am going solo and celebrating my divorce of 25 years. Is this a god time to go?

pretty sure you can have fun anytime in CR and there are some good discounts on hotels etc
however that is also because business tends to be slower
if you haven't booked the flight yet or you have other dates available you would likely be better served to go before or after the dates you are mentioning...jmo

Where are you staying I would suggest sportsman lodge bc it will prob have most action and it's a comfy environment for sure then just stroll over to HDR bring few back to ur room which is like $60 a night. Staying somewhere else may be boring sounds like this time of year

actually not bad time to go, you will see more variety as many who do not work often will be looking for money for the Christmas presents for the K*ds and family. You will also see some out for the holiday parties.
The closer to the 25th the slimmer the pickings.

I'd stay at La Amistad if you like food. Room's better than sportsmen in most cases and the all inclusive is Breakfast lunch and dinner anything on the menu and it all tasted great to me. Drinks are free too and top shelf liquor is 50% off.

It's right up the road from Sportsmen.
