I've been getting excited as I am planning out my trip to San Jose and Jaco in January. I've been perusing the BP ads and there seems to be a lot of quality MP's in the outlying areas such as Heredia and Rohrmoser. Actually one of the girls has the perfect body IMHO that works in Heredia.The Foro site speaks highly of these places. I hablo very little espanol. Getting better by the day but probably just enough to tell taxi where to take me and negotiate with a girl.

What would be Veteran advice to a Newbie? Worth the hassle of venturing out of the Gulch? Safe to go out of the Gulch? Or will there be enough variety in the Gulch and HDR I won't have to leave? I already plan on seeing Estephanie at 360 and booking an appointment with Luna for my hotel. Thanks for helping the Newbie.

Get out of the gulch, explore a bit of the country. I really enjoyed Heredia and have stayed there twice

Always worth the hassle to venture out. Just keep in mind you may waste a lot of time since you do not yet know your way around. Just go, relax, and enjoy your adventures.

First timer to CR? Forget going outside the gulch. You'll be neck deep in puntang, so no need to go anywhere. Once you enter HDR, you won't want to go to an MP, much less Heredia.

To each his own. but OI have never felt the need to go outside the gulch. Unless I'm going to a beach or something, I'm more than satisfied at the selection in centro. Paseo Colon is as far as I need to go.

Heredia may not be prime for a 1st timer excursion. It's a field trip I've contemplated. But, as mentioned, there's much to be occupied with in the gulch.

That said, there is a contribution to the community aspect here. Where would we be without the intrepid who go out and then share back?
