27 year old first timer in CR.. Have been here for a week and already accumulated a nice roster of local beauties that dont hook and also some other connections that make the trip a little more enjoyable. I have an apartment in Escazu until February and anyone looking for a wingman or someone to go to clubs with send me a PM...... unless you're a Michigan Wolverines fan, then you can just go to hell.... Go Buckeyes!

I'm well aware that Escazu is not the reality of life in Costa Rica. The girls I have met seemed generally interested. A bartender, a Hooters Escazu, and a girl i met in the Multiplaza. Regardless of their intentions I just simply mentioned that I will be in Escazu for a few months and that if they wanted to meet up for a drink or dinner it would be my pleasure. I've been in contact with all 3 by text and met up with the girl from Hooters Saturday at a club. I understand most on this site aren't interested in places Escazu night clubs, i was just speaking in general. I did meet a Russian girl online who allegedly translates for realtors and skyped before I met her down here. She hasn't seen a dime from me but I've seen all the places on her where a dime could go...... My post was just for anyone who traveled alone looking to watch a game or get drinks around beautiful women. If you're 21 or 85 it doesn't matter to me, I just know it's safer to go in groups.

No sir I wasn't offended in the least. I definitely appreciate your opinion and concern. I have spent most of my evenings in SJ so I meant anyone looking for a wingman in Escazu or SJ.. I'll be here for awhile and want as many experiences as possible. I enjoy the vibe of SJ more than Escazu, just happened to find a very accommodating, safe, and affordable apartment up in Escazu that was still close enough to allow me to get free rides to SJ from my dentist

You will find ticas (and ticos, too) all around you in Costa Rica. "Tico/Tica" is a nickname for Costa Ricans... not prostitute.

Assuming you mean ho's, forget it, the only place in Escazu is high priced, I used to live in Escazu and I learned to take the bus downtown, they come every 1/2 hour and is a fun part of the culture, plus it's less than a dollar round trip. :!:

You can check out 360 and other places around Paseo Colon, at 55 I used to walk to the brothels there (Oasis was my favorite way back when, $35.00 for 1 hour!) then take a cab home, not too pricey one way for a day of exercise and poonage...

Very good, Blue Devil, very good! :)

Lets see 'Dude:

You are staying in a very geographically undesirable area of the Central Valley (I formerly stayed at Pico Blanco in San Antonio de Escazu - which was even worse) - at least as far as proximity to downtow/the gulch

You are staying at a hotel that likely does not welcome "guests" - or in fact outright bans them (Lets face it - its not on the CRT approved list     )

You are asking about "TICAS" - a term you are using to mean prostitute, when in fact it simply means Costa Rican female

You want closer action - you are in the wrong place for it.

I think its time to surrender and say:

"I don't know what I'm doing and trying to repair the Titanic, with a patch kit - or maybe by rearrainging the deck chairs"

Look, busting your balls a little; and my first few trips I did not know what I know at trip 45 - so I get it - but your post was just so clueless and lacking in any research that its like waiving a red flag in front of a bull.

You are not gonna create a red light district (like in Escazu) where one does not exist - good rest's, bars, sure - pu*sy.....not so much

For now, plan to stay where you are and visit the MP's, venues, that will provide you what you are seeing - I think you need to do some research, but if you like bars, the Delrey is world famour - I think the Sportsmans is better - I like Relax, as well as Zona II as far as massage parlors.

While none of these are really close to Escazu, the cab ride - avoid high traffic times of day - will not kill you, time wise or money wise. Next time stay at a place more suited to your activities, and bank the frequent stay points for another location     Finally while you can't polish a turd, you can get some value and enjoyment out of where you are staying; its a simple cab ride away

Sorry, new to the posting on the board. I have been to SJ(I go for work so they pick the hotel) once before, stayed closer to downtown area. Hit an MP and HDR and took a pair back to my hotel. Now the company selected the IC out in Escazu, so was curious if it was worth venturing out near hotel for a quick MP visit or just suck up cab cost for the HDR. Again, sorry for the sh!tty first post, I will get better.

Escazu Update?

A buddy of mine is staying in Escazu next month and told me that there are clubs and pick-up bars in Escazu. This was news to me.

I wanted to reach out to the helpful punters here and ask if someone can offer any current info; MPs, bars, freelancer venues (a la Del Rey).

Lastly........ any recommendations for mid-priced hotels (USD $50 - $100).

Thanks in advance.

Bob
