JetBlue passengers will have three options when buying tickets: Blue, Blue Plus and Blue Flex. It will cost fliers with a Blue fare $20 to check their first bag when checking-in online or at a kiosk. If they wait to check-in at the airport counter, the fee goes up to $25. A second checked bag flies for $35.

Paying for window or aisle seats is next.

They will never charge for bathrooms because that can become a stinky/messy situation if somebody did not have change or refused to pay to take a shit. I'd hate to be one of the passengers on that plane, especially those sitting in the last few rows.

Unless their prices come down to close to what they were last year, including one checked bag, I am finished with JetBlue. It appears the decision makers decided to take advantage of a loyal customer base.

Keep SW in your plans. Many people do not realize that their flights do not come up in searches like Expedia, etc. Got a $424.00 in October from Chicago. No luggage charge.

Use Kayak for airline ticket searches, they have links to Southwest.

Are you going to leave your bag in CR? If not, that's another $15 for the return. I just checked flights from Orlando for September, and the cheapest JetBlue, with one checked bag, is $486. For the same dates on Spirit, the fare, including one checked bag, is $342. I don't think I can eat enough snacks and drink enough soft drinks to account for $144.

I agree, but Spirit is a love/hate thing. They've yet to phuck me over, so I'm okay with them. Of course I leave Friday, so we'll see what happens.

So, now that Jetblue is joining them down in the muck, you'll feel the same about them too?

It seems Jetblue still allows one free carry-on bag and one personal item, whereas Spirit limits you to one personal item less than 16”x14”x12”. If you do want a carry-on with Spirit it costs from $35-$100 each way for non-$9 fare club members ($26-$100 for $9 fare club).

Jetblue's new CEO quickly added more seats to their A320s reducing seat pitch from 34.7 inches to 33.1 inches. Sounds bad until you compare it to 28 inches on Spirit.

I'd imagine that the upcoming Barclay's Jetblue card would offer some type of free checked bag. Another option is Jetblue's Mosaic status which gives 1st and 2nd checked bags for free. They seem to periodically offer status matches and/or challenges. I usually don't check bags so didn't care about that feature but did it for the no change or cancellation fee benefit.

Why are mongers so worried about checked bags? I don't know more than a couple of guys who check bags on mongering trips.
