I am heading down to CR from the 28th through the 1st of Jan. I have heard that things get kind of slow around Christmas Time down there. as i have never been can anyone give me some advise on the how things are and how the action is during that time frame.

Christmas & New Years' are times for gatherings of family and friends. Unless, you have an amiga already lined up, it may be difficult to find company over the New Year holiday. I spent New Years 2006 in Costa Rica, but I spent it with an amiga and her sisters in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca. We had a blast.

When you get there, line up a few for the next few days.

Guys thanks for the info, a little confused though, BlueDevil you said it is slow but is it a ghost town with the streets rolled up and no chica's around or are the pickings just a little slimmer than normal? if there is some action at places like the Del ray then I will make the trip. if its a ghost town and boring as hell during this time i will make it down there another time and do my New Years partying elsewhere. I was just looking to get out of the cold weather and do some partying and have some fun someplace warm

First, if you want some place warm for New Years, don't go to San Jose. That time of year, nights get pretty chilly (50s) and days won't usually reach 80. Now on the coast(s) it will be warm. That time of year is usually pretty slow for the obvious reasons i.e. girls with families, girls going back to the 'home country' etc. However, there are still girls around and most MPs are still open. Wish I could tell you what Jaco will be like since it is a very popular place for locals to vacation during this time so might be as good as normal or may be dead.

No, San Jose won't be a total ghost town with the streets rolled up. But don't expect to find too many working girls around during the week between Christmas and New Years. You may be able to find some MPs open, and a few strays that don't have anything better to do... but don't count on it. On New Year's Eve, most girls will be with family and friends doing what everyone else in the world does... partying and ringing in the New Year. On New Year's Day, most will be nursing a hangover. There are better times to come to San Jose for p4p, like the weeks leading up to Christmas when the girls need to work and earn money. So, unless you've got an amiguita or two already waiting in the wings for you (or a CR ex-pat takes you under his wing), I would pick another time to visit San Jose. Also, Semana Santa, or Holy Week (the week leading up to Easter) is another bad time to visit CR, or any other Latin country, for p4p. Many women will find religion, and abstain from sex from Maundy Thursday through Easter Sunday. US holiday weekends are peak times for the gulch, and unless you like the camaraderie of a "sausage fest," these are periods you may want to avoid as well. I'm not that familiar with the "new" Jaco... but, things may be different in the p4p venues there during the holidays.

Quantity of chicas at the DR will be low. Number of guys visiting will be lower. Guys stay away from SJ during certain time of the year. It won't be a sausage fest. Might not be a pu*sy fest either.

Been to SJ during Semana Santa. Not too many chicas at the DR. Not too many guys. Was outnumber 4-1. Had a great time.

I wouldn't recommend coming during that time for all the reasons already listed, If you can come and leave right up to Xmas, that's a good time, I've been lucky and snagged a few non-pros who have regular jobs and only occasionally "work", and many regulars are looking to earn Xmas gift and travel to meet relatives money.

After Jan 2 is also not bad, festivities are over and there's bills to pay. I lived in CR for 2 years and luckily had regulars to count on but when I went downtown during that time it was dead.

It won't be completely dead but your selection will be very limited and the best looking top money makers will be enjoying the time off, you'll be looking at a small scattering of 2nd stringers...

It might be worth calling Zona II and Scores to see if they have anyone willing to come in by appointment during that time... :?: :?: :?:

If you have no choice at this time, I'm betting Jaco may very well be a better choice than the gulch, the weather is warmer at least. I don't have any reason to suggest this, it's just a hunch but worth investigating if you find yourself standing in the HDR lobby on a Friday night and there's 6 fat ones, old ones, and ugly ones eying you up and down....

there are many non-locals working the HDR. I am sure many will not return home but choose to work. They may take the high-days off to party and be with friends, but they'll be the ones to capitalize on the chica-shortage.

And in a pinch, you could always score a transvestite experience.

Don't be discouraged. There will be something there for you. As I mentioned before, I spent Christmas/New Years there once and had no problem.

we measure 'bad days' on different scales, my friend. My worst days in CR would have gladly been traded for root canals, pile surgery, or anything else in the good ol' USA!
