I recently moved to CR and was wandering where I can find good places with hones non pro girls? Also dealing with working girls. Is it ok to take them to my apartment or should i take them to a hour hotel? What are your guys experience with taking girls from HDR to your home?

I suggest taking the DR chicas to a hotel by the hour. Once you establish a good relationship over time if you repeat possibly to your casa. It is not good idea to take them to where you live because there is always a possibility that you will get set and robbed at a future date.

If I moved to CR I would not waste my time and money on working girls I would look for a waitress, hairdresser, or just hang out in a local dance club and meet a local regular women and build a relationship and not have to worry about wearing condoms and how many times she has been banged that day- or how many cocks she has sucked -there are some good ones out there--trust me I found one and am very happy!

Yea, As I said before. My main goal is not the DR or any of the other typical venues. But till I find a tica again I like. Well lets just say a men has his needs :). My main question was where to go to find decent girls who are NOT working. I was with a DR girl for several years and what a mistake that was. I could write a book about all the drama deceptions and lies and it would sell better then 50 shades of gray. So yea, I learned my lessen and moving on.

Finding " honest" girls , might be hard to do , but non- pros are everywhere. Hit on the waitress , barmaid , secretary, checkout girl, or go to the mall in Escazu. Talk to your neighbor and ask her if she has any friends that are single.
But first learn Spanish and hit on your teacher.

Where are you from - I get the impression you are not American - just curious :)

I also get the impression that you are new to all aspects of Costa Rica; guys with the experience to move down tend not to ask the questions you did. For example, the HDR does not tend to be the "go to" place for experienced guys, especially residents - sure, they might take a spin through the place, to see whats going on, but for experienced guys, its not the main option - simply responding to what you wrote - if you know this and were just using the place as an example, no problem. - not a "shot" just an observation.

I'd suggest you go to places like the Sportsmans - during happy hour - and look for other residents and get to know some of them - you could also post you want to meet other residents and talk with them and ask them about their experiences. Maybe offer to buy the 1st drink. I don't know if he wants more friends  , but via PM I'd reach out to BangBang57 - he does not post, but will respond to PM's.

There is not one place the "honest, non pros" hang out - but they are out there and not particularly difficult to meet - you give zero details about yourself which limits comments. You also rec'd some good suggestions about places too.

I'd also tell you that honest, sincere non pro girls are the same all over - treat them with respect, and just because you sprung for the extra portion of gallo pinto don't expect them to hop into bed with you the first date - with a little time and luck you should be fine - good luck.

I know this sounds crazy but it worked for me, I lived here from 2007 thru 2009 and chose not to buy a car. I took buses all the time and always tried to sit next to a hottie. I carried my "Spanish for Dummies" paperback in my pocket and would try to engage them in conversation. I picked up a few cuties that way.

I also shopped frequently at one AM-PM and got to know one of the girls there, dated her for awhile, also asked a waitress out at one of my favorite restaurants, after the culmination of our date ended up in my bedroom, to my surprise, she requested $50. I gave it to her out of habit.

I've met girls that were friends of my friends' wives or girlfriends, don't be afraid to ask them to hook you up.

Learn Spanish and get out there, you don't necessarily have to go to a nightclub, I never did.

Har Har, I'm almost 59 (this July) and I remember when I was looking for part time work while I was in college, the Fuller Brush jobs were still out there. I vaguely remember my mother had some.

An old sales manager taught me "ABS", always be selling...

If you apply the techniques to picking up women it works. Another sales trainer taught me that you have to be thick skinned and be able to take rejection; he said you get 10 "no's" to one "yes", so I was out there practicing my trade and getting turned down in Costa Rica just like in the U.S. and would get my share....the ladies in Costa Rica are incredibly less rude about rejecting you than their American gringa cousins...

I lived in the US for 10 years, and are original from Germany. You got the eye man :) and no I do not typically hang around the "happy places" and are not really planing to go to any of them really.

I came here a few years ago and made the mistake to fall in love with a pro girl which I ended marring. Ending up with drama witch could fill 2 life times and are now divorced.

I do know Costa Rica quite a bit just not really the night life scene. Im a shy guy and am just looking for a few good upscale bars in and around of San Jose where you can meet decent girls. And no, Im not looking but will not say no to one night stands :)

Nothing personal mind you, but you recently made a huge mistake. Not too late to correct it, however.....

Definitely would not take a first-timer back to my own place, especially one that you are sure is working. Better to go to a hotel. You will meet plenty of regular girls downtown, or you can try the more suburbian places like Sabana and Escazu, just in the shoe store, walking down the street or at a locals' bar. There are lots of regular girls out there, if you can just take a 5-minute cab ride away from the HDR. However, there is always the temptation for any of the girls here to target a gringo as an ATM, even if they are a regular-type girl.

Living here is great, but that is entirely subjective. You have to be willing to both adapt to the lifestyle here, and also to challenge it harshly when appropriate. CR is not for everyone, but it is for me. Laid-back attitude that both relaxes things on a daily basis, and also enables a true entrepreneur to kick some ass. Looking forward to full-time living there in a couple years. Turned out to be the perfect fit for my lifestyle.
