Why?

Is that dump even open still? I think it's owned by the same people who own the Morazon Hotel. If so, stay away. Why not stay at one of the more popular places like SL, HLH, or even Castillo if you're on a tight budget?

I stayed there once about 10 years ago. 1 night and left. Crappy neighborhood -- old hotel--there are much better choices. Sportsman Lodge--Dunn Inn-- Little Havana. If you want a little cheaper, try Castillo. You would not be happy with Europa.

Yes,all chica friendly at no charge. Sportsman ( I am there now) has everything--- good food- lots of fine woman-- all sporting events with great atmosphere and plenty of room. You usually need plenty of advance notice for reservations.

While I don't love every CRT hotel sponsor, its a good list b/c you are assured that they are friendly to our hobby by their listing on this site.

You have rec'd good info - but you have a lot of reading ahead of you to get the most out of your trip - start w/ the newbi section - and while Orange had kind of a "strong" response to your post (sorry, it just screamed "newbi, and I have done no research") :P  - read his tips for newbi's in the newbi section - really excellent info and will get you started in the right direction :)

If you get to the point you really want to ramp up the learning curve, tours are offered by members Bilko and Pops (although the intel is Pops is still recovering from an accident - so may not be currently doing tours) - simply PM them for more info - really worth it :)

Also, good cigars at The Havana Humidor Room, but no La Glorias.

Here's Orange's very popular and useful thread: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=16357

Here the list of hotels mentioned in Orange's post. All are chica friendly, however some DO charge a chica fee:
Quote:

1. Sportsmen’s Lodge (SL) http://www.sportsmenscr.com (Preferred hotel of many CRT'ers; frat like atmosphere; large sports bar; lots of tv's (incl all PPV events-boxings, MMA, football); rooms range from $60-150/night (less CRT VIP discount); indy chicas work the bar from morning till closing; free breakfast is only fresh fruit and toast)
2. Hotel La Amistad http://www.hotelamistad.com (a block from Sportsmens; very nice hotel; rooms start at $69 (less CRT VIP discount); also a favorite of many CRT'ers; no chicas working on-site; free breakfast is good)
3. Hotel Del Rey (HDR or DR) http://www.hoteldelrey.com (bars in the hotel are where chicas can be found literally 24 hours/day, the rooms are pretty bad, uncomfortable, old, most would not recommend staying there-only visit the bars to pick up chicas, no CRT discount)
4. Hotel Little Havana (HLH), formerly Zona Blue (ZB) http://www.hotellittlehavana.com (owned/operated by CRT'er, hotel attached to massage parlor, or vice versa, recently opened, rooms start at $69/night (less CRT VIP discount), 2br suites available, quickly becoming a favorite)
5. Hotel Castillo http://www.hotelcastillo.biz (budget hotel; starts at $38/nt (w CRT VIP discount); very basic; free breakfast sucks)
6. Hotel Dunn Inn http://www.hoteldunninn.com (renovated rooms, start at about $70; new large sportsbar opened feb 2011; good food but pricey; CRT discount)
7. The Freebird Hotel http://www.thefreebirdcr.com (nice hotel close to 2nd ave; 2 blocks from HDR; most rooms share bathrooms; but has 2 suites; rooms start at about $40/night (CRT discount))
8. Hotel Morazan http://www.costaricamorazan.com (budget place $45-50/night; ok rooms-basic; reports of smoke smell; no CRT discount)
9. Nuevo Johnson (budget hotel @ $15/night) http://www.hotelnuevojohnson.com (very very basic, bad part of town, not recommended unless on very tight budget)

Do take the time to go through the entire post, as you will probably find 90% of your questions answered in there.

Have fun!

You really can do no wrong with any of these places, but I would say the stand-out place is HLH, it will really blow your mind with the good folks there, and the girls will blow the other other little mind. You could also try the Hotel Del Rey, for a newbie you might find it to be good for you. Lousy rooms, but location, location, location.

IMHO....a newbie is better off at HLH following Boyd's advice and guidance.
