Hey guys, I was wondering how exactly the Costa Rican (latin) view of sex is compared to our US culture. Also input on any other big do's and dont's in Latin culture will be highly appreciated. Also how will the Latin prostitutes expect to be treated? I am asking particularly because to many people I resemble Hispanics (I am of South Asian descent).

I think the US is the worst when it comes to sex. The US is about the only democracy in the world where all forms of P4P are illegal except for a few brothels in rural areas of one state. In almost all other democracies you can find legal P4P in one form or another although there are usually rules. People in the US beleive P4P devalues women professionally and socially. As if women aren't suppose to enjoy sex. Other countries beleive that a woman has the basic right to use her body the way she wants.

On the surface the profession is usually looked down upon. But basically I beleive most guys dream about falling in love with a beautiful pro, especially if they are not from the US.

Agree with the above. Specifically:

- Being a sexual person is not frowned on here. Sex is everywhere and they revel in it, pro and non-pro. There is a whole lotta fuggin' goin' on!

- A kiss on the cheek is expected when greeting someone. Skip the kiss on you have dissed the girl.

- A kiss on the lips is reserved for someone you have feelings for. Kiss a girl on the lips in front of another and you have committed a foul if you want to be in favor with the other.

- Touching her ass in public is a big deal. She may not say anything but you dissed her if you fondled her ass in public.

- Tipping is our cultural thing, not theirs. They see it as throwing money away. If you are a big tipper expect that the girls will see you as a foolish gringo who doesn't know the value of money (and should be relieved of as much of it as possible).

- There is a definite pecking order. If the top-tier girls see you taking the c30,000 nicas/dominicanas they will not be nearly as willing to do business with you. They see you as "down" and they don't want to be taken down.
