never been to CR but want to stay long term maybe 2 months or so... sure i want to have fun and play some days but i think the hotels would be pricey after a while at $60/night even for 2 months. has anyone ever rented a place, or found somewhere that rents weekly thats not too far off the beaten path?

yeah, stick to craigslist in CR for meeting whores that demand you have a personal relationship with Jesus before they give it up....(that plus at least $14.75)

Impossible to answer without more info on you--level of Spanish (part of that 2 months gonna be in language school?), desire for daytrips/overnights elsewhere in the country, strength of sex drive/level of self-discipline, overall budget, ability to keep yourself amused/ level of general sociability, etc. etc., but assuming a reasonable level on all this--NO--2 months is not too long.

If you are experienced at mongering in other parts of the world, then not at all. However, if by "first timer" you mean your very first mongering trip anywhere, i.e. no experience with hookers, then you might want to be careful, otherwise you'll quickly submit to "K*D in a candy store" syndrome. Some guys can spend a couple thousand dollars in a mere weekend trip, so unless you're well-funded and can afford a 2-month long non-stop party you'll want to pace yourself. You'll have the time, so frequently get out of San Jose and see the rest of the country.
