 Post subject: last minute questions

CR Virgin - Newbie!

Heading to CR for the first time and also solo nov 15th-22nd. Just wanted to know about bringing cash... should i take all hundred dollar bills and exchange as needed or should i get different denominations?

And those are best used for the hotel bill or some other venue where they are used to handling big cash. Check for CB in front of the serial #--a definite no-no down here. They can and will turn down any bill that's marked on, or torn in the least way (learned this to my sorrow).
The ATMs at the HDR give a reasonable rate, and there's both a US dollar and a colon machine available, should you need money at night. And call your ATM and CC issuer's anti-fraud departments to let them know of your travel plans (countries, dates).
