I have read where Mothers Day (on August 15 this year) is a major holiday in Costa Rica. We are supposed to fly in on the 19th and just wanted to make sure that this won't interfere with our plans. Also, do the women speak english at all, my spanish is horrible, but luckilystill have time to learn

Mothers Day in Costa Rica is always on August 15. It will have no have no impact on your plan of arriving on the 19th. Some girls speak a little bit of English, a very small minority are fluent and many speak only Spanish. While the more Spanish you are comfortable with the better you will still be able to enjoy yourself even if you speak no Spanish.

About the Spanish-language thing--yes, more is better and your studies are encouraged--but at least as important is your game, your persona. Fluent in Espanol but treat'em like meat = poor performance/ poquito Espanol but treat'em like reasonable human beings = much better. Not sayin' you should lay down for their first price or try to seduce them like Gringas (God forbid) but they do respond to a guy that wants give and get a genuinely good time. The "phucking a jar of chopped liver" crowd aren't members here anyway.

I should have emphasized not to try to seduce them as if they were Gringas--I'm not skillful enough to know the difference but I'm sure there is one.

Having a great personality goes a long way in any language. I've seen guys operate in the SL and the HDR without any knowledge of the language or any intention of learning the language, but they still have a great time. Being a fun guy is infectcious. And yes, being a good guy to a girl (not to be mistaken with kissing their ass and giving them any $ they request) helps the whole operation from many angles.

However, having a great personality and being able to communicate through their language...That's just powerful.

My opinion...

+ 1 Agree 100%. But it's amazing how many guys just don't get it! So many mongers think it always, without a doubt, unquestionably and definitively ABOUT THE MONEY! Yep, there's money that changes hands. But IMO, that's not the primary factor when it comes to getting a good session. Of course - YMMV!
