I make my hotel reservation with Darren at the Castillo, for my next trip, while I'm still there. Even though it's usually five or six months in advance, Darren is good about changing it for me, should the need arise. 8)

I also bought my airfare for my upcoming February trip.....last July. Even though the price of a barrell of oil was $147 last July, I was able to get, what I thought, was a great price for a February airfare. This turned out to be a mistake. Who'd have ever guessed, that five months later, the price of a barrell of oil would drop by over $100..........and the price of my airfare also dropped by $100.

I didn't vote in the poll. None of the categories seemed to fit.

I'm ALWAYS planning to go back to CR. With that in mind, I am always scanning the airfares waiting for an opportunity to jump. I pulled the trigger on my October trip with about 3 weeks advance while I was working in England. Gotta love that Al Gore's interweb thingie! I'm never out of touch.

My next trip will be in Feb and I started thinking about (sort-of planning?) that trip before I left CR during my first trip in Feb this year. Never mind that I've been three times since! The Feb trip will likely be a biggie (for me). 3 weeks or more if I can swing it. I'll probably spend two more weeks taking Spanish lessons (There you go Jadcujo!) and another week outside of the gulch. Also trying to coordinate that trip with another CRTer I met in CR. I haven't reserved a thing for that trip yet.

I did not vote because none of the options fit me. I’m on a continuous planning stage to my next trip. When I’m not is because I’m executing the plan in CR. As soon as I leave the hotel to come home, I start the planning stage again for my next trip.

I start thinking about my next trip as I'm flying back from my current trip. However, I generally don't book things until about 2 days before the trip, as it's usually a surprise timing issue.

Im with JOsie and Western, I take off when the flights are good and I can take the time off work. I estimate for a construction company, so when I see a lull in bidding coming (A LOT lately) I sneak off for a few days. Flying out of FLL is cake on Spirit or American.

Since on my next trip my flight is a freebie from American, I made reservations about 5 months in advance. American is not the best airline for giving out free seats. My flights back from C.R. to Texas requires 4 flights and 16 elapsed hours.

Also, I wanted to make sure I got one of the new mansion rooms at SL so I made reservations there at the same time, and got the new room as soon as they opened up.

Only 3 months to go!!

This is easy for me. Pretty much if I know there's going to be a bunch of guys in town I try and plan accordingly. Labor Day weekend is an automatic, and I'm thinking Halloween might turn into that as well.

Other than that, I don't have a huge compulsion to go to CR to just bang chicks. For sure CR or my trips there wouldn't be the same without chillen with some good buddies. Add that to me living in S Fla, and the planning is quite simple, no hassle, and quick..

I usually dislike planning more than a month or two ahead of time because I can't deal with the anticipation otherwise.

Also being a twenty-something year old with compulsive spending habits means I can rarely anticipate what my financial situation will be more than a couple months ahead of time.

So for me I chose the third option... when my bank account is nice and juicy I buy a plane ticket and everything else falls in to place when I land in the destination of choice.

You lucky Ba*tards who live in Forida!
If I lived there I'd be in CR at least once a month!

About the best I can do out of Seattle is 12 hours of travel time (not including to/from the airports.) with one or more connections! Cost: $500 to $800 (or more!) for coach.
