Thinking of going to Hotel del rey for a bit . My first question is, do they usually accept walk ins? I would be going in september or october which i think is the slow season. Also, I would be coming from the bus from puntarenas so would i be able to walk there from the bus station or should i take a taxi? Edit: also i was looking at the website and can not find prices anywhere for rooms. whats up with that?

If their are rooms they will but their are usually none. You can usually walk anywhere but try not to do it late at night. Go to this page on this website you will find out everything you need.

$10 per girl fee to take her to your room at the del rey, that is in addition to the price you are paying her. So if she charges you $80, add in $10 more for the hotel and it is going to cost you $90.

There are a number of bus stations in San Jose. If you are talking about where the bus that goes by the airport ends it route it is about 10 blocks east and 2 blocks north to the HDR. If you are talking about the main bus station, called Coca Cola, it is 14 blocks east and 1 block north to the HDR.

Day or night you should take a taxi if you have luggage.

Most of the buses from Puntarenas use the bus stop at, I think, Av10 and Calle16 or 18. Not sure the exact calle #, but I would not recommend walking from this area to the Rey. It would be a rather long walk and more important, a rather dangerous area. A taxi would only be maybe $3 or so,much faster and much safer.

Bangbang is correct on approximate location of Puntarenas bus staion and it is a long walk from the Del Rey. I took the bus there last time down for an overnight stay just to get out of San Jose and there is a small pfpf scene there. Taxi would be recommended unless you are very familar with walking in San Jose and don't mind a long walk. I walked back to Hotel Johnson from there during the day but it is much closer.rbc100
