I want to thank you vets for your good advice.

I've slightly modified my game plan based on your inputs. It's now:

- Still be nice

- Forget the biking and swimming (1 week off won't kill me)

- It's OK to make 2 or 3 block walks alone in the gulch (if I can get a permit to carry an Uzi, Colt M4 Carbine, or H&K MP5)

Any of you guys going to be at SL or DR 1-8 Jan, drop me a line

Try the right one and then let's see your next comment

- I'm still not paying up front, but it's worth a few bucks more for a good GFE
It's not the bucks that will produce your greatest GFE's

- The one rule I'm equivocating on is whether or not to restrain my natural love for DATY. Spanish women make me crazy (but I won't mention that in pre-negotiation), but I need to keep a level head (no pun intended) and remember that they really don't love me, though I am absolutely certain I will love them, for at least 2 hours.
