I believe it would, but I am no expert. That's why I said, "I believe". If I was an expert I would have said "You damn right Skippy it's illegal and you could risk going to jail shipping 5,000 tabs?/caps? of Oxy back into the US not to mention the peter hardening medicine".

I know you can bring up to 50 tabs back with a script. I tried finding Oxys when i was down there last and all the pharmacies kept telling me to go to the hospital. I guess Doctors there will wrtie a script for what ever just to get the visit fee. Go to one of the hospitals and get a script and it s legal

Deeshot,
Let me clarify your statement:

You can bring in up to 50 doses (pills) of a medication obtained legally abroad without a prescription from a US-licensed, DEA-certified physician. Unless the doctor is US-certified, a CR doctor's prescription means nothing in the eyes of Customs.

If you do have a prescription from a US-licensed doctor, you can bring more than 50 doses.

I never have a problem bringing back prescriptions, I just take my about to run out empty bottles with me and refill them. It is not worth it to try to sneak oxycotin etc back, you get caught your next trip will not be to costa rica. and Bubba will not be a GFE.

The thing is, prescription drug prices here aren't that much cheaper than in the US (at least for the good stuff). The only reason to do so would be to buy drugs you don't have a prescription for (many prescription drugs do not require prescriptions here).

As someone else said, just take your empty pill bottles with you, maybe mix them up with some vitamins ;) They don't know if you got the pills in the US or there if you have a pill bottle from the US (and it's for the same drug).
