Since Im in the planning stages of my second trip Im seeking a bit of advice.

I was originally planning or looking at March 20-29th for my second trip, but soon realized 2 things. First, thats the VERY end of the high season - so Id be getting slightly higher hotel rates just because I went a week to early, and second thats when alot of schools in the US have spring break.

Ive spent a late March in Cancun during spring break, and as appealing as the Girls Gone Wild videos may seem; I thought it was total chaos. I personally dont want to be surrounded by that crowd when I make my next visit.

Im wondering, do many guys head to CR during late March for the mongering scene, compared to usual that is?

Im looking for low tourist/monger + high chica turnout. I was thinking if I went the week before Easter, I could catch some trying to make some quick cash before they went back home to their families.

jmac, will be heading out to CR next week, Sunday Jan 8 till Thurdsay 12th, with my wingman. Why don't you meet up with us? Thank god you stayed away around the xmas holidays, no chicas.

i don't know much about spring breakers heading to CR, but i highly doubt that it's a destination they would even consider vacationing there. Thank God.

Costa Rica is definitely a spring break destination, but the beach towns and not San Jose. When I was in college (95-99), there were people making spring break plans to Costa Rica. I'm guessing that Jaco is much more of a spring break scene than SJ.

I think JMac is resentful because he's und***ge, so he can't party at the bars with drunk college chicks.

Not a lot of spring breakers in San Jose, though you will see some at the beaches. Nothing like Cancun though.

Ohhh Im 19 now, finally legal.

Anyways, thats good news. I didnt expect many girls to be there, if any.

Really it just all came down to supply and demand. If the BM is rocking with a bunch of unknowledged college students willing to throw around money, chances are our negotiations arent going to be as powerful as they are on a typical day.

Would anyone reccomend I just wait til the first week of April opposed to last week of March?

From what I understand, the 3rd week of October (during leap year) is the best time to go, as long at the moon phase is 1/4 crescent, with the winds out of the North/West, and the barometric pressure doesn't drop too low, and the dew point must be steady.....
But the temperature must be between 74.3 - 76.4 degrees farenheit.
(Just bustin' some balls Jmac)!

If I were you, I'd go the last week of March, and stay through the 1st week of April! What the hell.....why not !!!!

Mikey, can you be serious for once? Haha. Holy shit, I just realized that last year I went in the 3rd week in October. Was it a leap year? No wonder I had so much fun.

Anyone planning a trip in April be cautious. Easter Sunday is April 16 which means from Thursday April 13 until Monday April 17 San Jose will be a ghost town.

It also will be another "dry" spell for alcohol :(

Heed Ding Dongs warning for Sementa Santa Or however you spell it.

The reason SJ is a ghost town is becuase everyone is at the beaches. After that dry week however the party is on full force. This isnt the best time of year for whitewater rafting becuase the rainy season is just starting back up.

I went to CR in april for the last 2 years. In 2004 there was an international rainbow gathering at Dominical. Those peace loveing, hippy bartering, Tree hugging, Juggling, backpacking mushroom eaters drank every ounce of beer in the whole town. I dont know where they got the money anyway. After a while they all got booted off the beach in Dominical so they all headed everywhere and there was ALOT of them. I would rather deal with the colledge springbreakers. I did meet some interesting ppl however like one guy named Colors that drove his car down from kansas and was makeing money by taxi-cabbing ppl around.

I plan on being there this April also Jmac I'll look for for the red shoelaces.

I'll probably head down there around the 1st week of April also.

DD, Thanks for the 'heads up' on the Easter thing. I never even thought about that. I was thinking about another trip around the 2nd weekend of April, but if it's Semana Santa weekend, ph*ck that! I'll move it up a week.....
