Farting At Mealtime Complaint Goes to Court

In the unbelievable but true department, a complaint against a woman that took up 90 minutes of the Tribunales de Justicia de Alajuela (Alajueal court) this past Wednesday.

The complaint? Farting during mealtime. No joke.

Seventy year old Ramón Julio Fonseca Ledezma filed a complaint that his ex-lover, fifty year old Ana Rosa Guzmán Fernández, let out two farts during mealtime in his house in La Guácima de Alajuela.

The complaint followed a previous order the man had against the woman not to "molest" him, resulting from a violent incident in 2004. A judge had ordered that the woman not molest, intimidate or attack the man, verbally or physically. The couple have been separated for 5 years.

The case cost the state ¢1 million colones (us$2.000) and was dismissed.

I thought the American court system had some ridiculous stories. This one is pretty unique. Tux

Tux,

Perhaps you didn't notice the result of the case.

Now THAT makes more sense than the likely outcome in a US court.
