I encountered some photos on line of a renovated cyber cafe in San Jose located next to the Gran Hotel Costa Rica in the arcade on Ave. 2.
The rates are 300C for an hour.
It looks nice on their website:

They serve coffee and treats, and they have a self serve laundromat there.
I forgot to add that they have a smoking and non smoking section.

I used that internet café when I first moved to San Jose and did not have my own computer yet.

It was a very pleasant experience, the staff friendly and very helpful. Some of the stations have US style keyboards.

Surprised at the price though. Two years ago it was 500 colones per hour or 300 per 1/2 hour. Sunday was 2 for 1 so could get 2 hours for 500 colones.

Its already on my map. I didn't know it also had a self-serve laundromat though. Their website still has the latin gibberish as space filler for some of its pages so you can't find out much from that. But do any of you know what their rates were for the washer and dryer machines? It might be easier and not that much more expensive to just go to a wash, dry and fold place like Sixaola and come back later to pick your stuff up but if you want to do the internet thing anyway while you're waiting this could be a real winning combination.

I don't know if you guys remember, but some of you were discussing the apparent dearth of self serve laundromats like we have in the US in CR and one guy was even talking about importing machines and setting up shop. It now looks like that won't be necessary.
