I'm just sorry he had to do that to get me a room. THIS man and THIS hotel and staff deserves ALL of our support. and I hope he can read this SCREW the Prez..........and KL BILL @SL deservers ALL the props from us CRT members. Fellow: Your post makes absolutely no sense along with being poorly spelled and phrased. If you "Mother" did pass away as I think you stated, then my condolences and I hope the family is okay. As for your "SCREW the Pres and KL". You are making an idiot comment. You gave no details as to why the Pres. did anything wrong. AND, I did not know that Key Largo wa renting rooms again. Are you of sound mind? Something tells me that Bill and the SL will be most fortunate in your having to cancel your reservations there. Pity. Really are getting some strange people posting on here. |

Are you of sound mind? Really are getting some strange people posting on here. Befoe piking on soone's engish: If you "Mother"? --- think you meant "your" Key Largo wa renting --- was that supposed to be was? "SCREW the Pres and KL". --- In english, the period goes inside the end quote and so does a comma when appropreiate (if the sentence continues). "Really are getting" --- you probably meant "We really are getting" *************** "Befoe piking on soone's enlish" - point is as long as someone is getting their point across why bother a brother monger with phrasing and more especially when, as I've demonstrated, no one is "perfct." Right, 3 posts is a bit over the top, but he is just excited that he was treated well. The SL is small and not corporate so he was touched by the compassion, sincerity and more that he found when dealing with Bill. KL - a simple mistake. Presidente - nice place but it has no personality. If the Presidente were a hooker, she would rate a 5, good looking, but no real emotions, kind of just lays there. Empathy...... is so key here. **************** The more I post here the thicker my skin gets so fire away at me - now that is the spirit! ![]() Sincerely, sadly and disappointed, Dwayne |

Yes Dwayne: Typos in my post were due to being quickly written and since I had to leave immediately afterward I did not review the text. My error. It is still my assertion my that his post was not written well and dificult to understand. The phrase "Really are getting some strange people posting on here" was tongue n' cheek. Got that from Pops. You and me have conflicting views on the Presidente. I've stayed there on numerous occasions and have seen the hotel strive to improve more than any in SJ. In my opinion, a very good staff, nice restaurant / bar, improved suites and professional attitude. I have stayed at a number of other places around the gulch and none compare overall to the Pres. The Sportsman is a different type of lodging but has developed a good reputation in a short time. Our views conflict and that's fine. I will aspire to improving my ability to communicate more properly and hopefully meet your standards in the future. Thank you for your concern. |

I luv Spurtsmen Lounge, Bill is one helluva gay. Wen I wuz disaxified with my room, Bill offered to let me stay in better rom nex time. I blow sunshine up Bill's as, cuz he is da bomb. Mosly, I like that he duz not coorect my Anglish. Nobuddy pix on RBC, who tipes like sheet. Kut the T-broad some slick, pleeze. And seriously, I would have to debate Circus the Younger about the Presidente. Yes, it's professionally run and continues to improve, but Duane's comment about the Presidente being cold is well-taken; certainly, the Sportsmen's Lodge feels more homey. However, it's unfair to both properties to compare them; the Presidente and Sportsmen's are very different kinds of hotel. More than anything else, I think Bill has introduced a much-needed , more welcoming type of hotel. Being ANorth American, he communicates more easily with us English speakers, he knows foods we like, ambience we'll appreciate and comforts we need. I intend to stay for an extended period at SL the next time I visit San Jose. No sunshine up anyone's ass here. ![]() |

Hello feidler: Nice to have a supporting view of the bashing statement towards the Presidente. I see that aquaintances of mine do not share that opinion and that's fine. To each their own as far as criticism of this unique hotel. My old man. as faulty as he is, has a fond appreciation of this establishment along with the historical significance of it's past and I concur. He wrote earlier this year about the history of the structure and the two men that came to SJ with no money and ended up erecting the structure through hard work and dedication. This of course has no bearing for what the hotel does today for new lodgers nor the satisfaction they find with the services. It does explain his reverence for the hotel.....as with mine. |

I don't believe that I "bashed" anyone or anything. ![]() I stated, reasonably that the two hotels are radically different in facilities, size, amenities and origins...therefore it is unfair to compare the two side-by-side. I also think my original criticism of the lighting, hard acoustic environment and generally cold, institutional feeling of the Presidente was not unreasonable. My original post to this thread was an attempt at humor, poking a little fun at those who either cannot type, will not edit, or use English as a fifth language. Wy duz eveybuddy gotta be so litral? Sheesh. |

OK, back to the Pres issue, maybe it should be another post, but WTF? I enjoy the Pres, I stay here ecah time I come. I also enjoy SL, totally different places. If any of you knew the Pres 10 years + ago you'd understand how far it has come.... People go to the SL for the "people". Bill has wonderful staff that make one feel at home. The Pres has the outdoor theater.... |
