Yep guys - it's out on the newsstand - the new issue of GQ with part 3 of their three-parter on the world sex trade, focusing on Costa Rica. For anyone who's been there a few times, you won't find anything in the article you don't already know, and of course there's the typical moralistic, negative slant on the whole business. Nevertheless, there's also an interview with Mick Jagger and some good pics of Cameron Diaz, so it's not totally worthless.

I've been hearing about CR as a great place to visit(not for mongering) for years. I've been to Amsterdam and Prague for mongering, never CR til recently. Would you all expect an article like this to cause any kind of gringo flood into CR or will it likely have a ripple effect that passes?

Or maybe........a flood of gringas looking to vacation and come home with a few bucks more than they left with.

TicaFan......Several weeks ago a poster on this board mentioned that this article would be coming out in GQ Magazine. From what I remember, the general consensus was that the typical GQ reader would have little interest in our hobby.

Now that would be a sight........a bunch of gringas on vacation hanging out in the BM trying to make some extra money!

I smell a catfight!

Hey Scuba,

I know an optimist when I see one. :)

I was sitting in the BM, waiting for my morning appointment a couple of weeks ago, and there was a 25 year old drunk gringa ranting on about how she comes to the BM to do a little carpet munching once and awhile.
At least, we had one thing in commom.

Yes, the article is heavily biased against legal p4p in Costa Rica.

I'm glad sites like CRT exist to give a more thoughtful perspective.

LVSteve...DATY. The Gringa was either a lesbian or bisexual.

Zebra had it correct. Previous posts mentioned that the typical GQ reader/subscriber would seem more interested in reading about nocturnal activities in Parque Morazon. Wile Coyote

As one who prefers wall to wall carpet I lament the trend to linoleum and hardwood.

Rugs are getting harder and harder to find  ...... is even dam difficult to find a throw rug out there

Ding Dong, you're right! I don't think I've seen a "carpet" in the time I've been living here.
Thats probably why I didn't get it in the first place. Thanks Gringotim for clearing that up for me.
