GQ magazine is running a three part series on the international sex trade. You can find the stories in the August, September and October issues. Here is a quote from the September issue, “The next installment of ‘The Sex Trade’ will explore the world of American sex tourists in Costa Rica, a country where prostitution thrives because it is legal.†![]() |

NOW I am scared. The last thing we need in the gulch is a bunch of well-dressed male models. Sheesh. |

But either way it's going to bring more guys. So expect more commercialism , more waiting, more hotels sold out and higher prices, etc . |

I don't think our little corner of the world will offer too much appeal to the GQ set. From my point of view, if you are not a down to earth kind of guy (no matter how much money you have) you will not enjoy our world very much. GQ in a MP? I don't think so. Even BM or KL will probably not appeal to the writers at GQ. They will probably just look and not partake in the pleasures that Latinas have to offer. |

GQ had an article on "20 hamburgers you must try before you die" and it listed a diner in Hollywood Beach Florida. You guessed it the place is now swamped by the minivan set and the service staff are flipping out, too much business for them to handle. GQ article won't bring anymore newbies than CRT or other boards do. |

I think Goal's post above sums up the typical metro-sexual appealing, lazy, pseudo journalism from GQ. A magazine for and by gays, or when not gay, straight narcissistic bastards who would never drink a Pilsen or Imperial from the bottle, or tap their Cuban cigar ashes into the receptacle of the likes of you or me. Yeah, that's heavily biased, despite my liberal, give everyone a chance, primitive instincts. Not to mess with gay guys, but let's not pretend really straight guys should aspire to GQ standards, despite the hopes of the male, Oprah viewing crowd. Not that I really know the CRT folk here well at all, but look at the GQ covers when checking out your groceries in the US supermarket aisle. Yep. The feminization of America. Yep. GQ is part of it. I'm rafting class III and IV's on the Rio Pacuare tomorrow, Monday, pick up from hotel here is at 6 AM. At that time in the AM the GQ think tank pool of talent hasn't even had time enough to apply their collective makeup. Me and my fellow male rafters just want to feel so feminine, so free! Not. I said something like this to a woman friend of mine. She said, "you sound like a douche commercial." Maybe that's what GQ actually is like--a douche commercial for narcissistic males encouraging us to purchase the latest male fashions created by Parisian gay males. RingoG |

RingoG; Remember you will be in a Raft on that river. You will not be able to Role play Burt Reynolds with a Bow in a canoe like in "Deliverance". There is a macho grande canyon on that river that has some fabby aquamarine water running thru it. I bet metrosexual mainly go to the butterfly tour. |

Crap, What a stupid post of mine above. Ranting like a drunk nut which was exactly what I was at the time. There's nothing wrong with appreciating fine clothes and nothing wrong with GQ. I'm ordinarily okay, except when angry in front of a keyboard. I'm working on it. Ringo |

Has anyone ever seen that gringo who comes into the Del Rey with Birgenstocks on with toenails as long as a tree sloth? I almost had to purge myself of my beer at the bar. Thankfully I averted my eyes quick enough. |
