At the regular HH gatherings it is natural for most of the attendees to be discussing their past, present, and future conquests. We even do it to the extent of picking from the gathered chicas who will be next. The approval of the masses is always appreciated. However a new phenomenon has taken place. We now have the advent of the "GIL" (Guys in love) with a chica. When these "mongers?" give their input to the conversations,it is always "my novia this or my novia that". Some of these members even go so far as to tell us about how they CHEATED on their novia by going to a massage parlor that morning. (and boy would they be in trouble if she found out) My question to the group (no surveys) is whether or not you consider these guys as mongers or not.

Maybe they can't be considered mongers now, but they will be eventually when they catch their novia cheating on them.

Yes they are still mongers but of the "Pussy-Whipped" variety.

Hey, VB! Us relative newbies are sailing against strong winds, in unfamiliar waters. That's why I appreciate having an experienced crew onboard.

Making my first HH and finally meeting you and the veterans was a highlight of my last (#4 trip) and could you tell I was absorbing every word? I know that wasn't my exact conversation above, but I probably did drop the "n"-word on you, and was even revisiting that "pw"d feeling of yesteryear. (And swimming away from it as fast as I knew how.)

CR has hit me with so much good new stuff so fast this year, and I've used it to fill in some missing pieces from the past 20 years of my life. Since I've never been at this point in life before, it's all seat of the pants learning as I go. Loving just about every minute of it, too.

But, with the help of friends like you, and remembering my own experience, I go through it a lot faster. I definitely don't want to be stuck, and miss out on what's ahead.

I'm even experiencing a bit of a "Del Rey Effect" at home. A young waitress walks up to my table, and I could be sitting again at HH with VB, Cygnus, and Tman. Why, she's coming over to offer me irresistable pleasures, isn't she? But I'll say, "No gracias, solamente aqui para una cerveza con mi amigo."

But I do give her that look that says, "But maybe next time..."

"GIL" can also mean Guy in Lust. Only that he has narrowed down his "rotation" or "stable" by eliminating the ones that might not be right for him. He has gotten rid of the Las Ladronas  or the ones that don't perform as they once did.
Dosen't mean he's in love all the time, VB. Could mean he's just comfortable and has lost intrest in the "hunt" because he is getting what he needs and wants for next to nothing.
Its possible, VB.

If you say you have a "novia" and spend the vast majority of your trip with her then I say, "You are not a monger." As for spending time at an MP or any other place. Why would that be cheating? I don't know any guys who go to CR and are married to a working girl. It may promote a small feeling of guilt, until you realize what your sweet, innocent doll is doing for a living. If she catches you so what. Been there done that and it doesn't make a damn bit of difference. You may catch alot of grief but then reality hits for both parties and all is well.

VB...

Give them time...

everything will come into perspective on the "novia" illusion

Always does...usually just a matter of time and how much money one wants to spend to keep the illusion alive...

Hmmm.. sound like I speak with experience...???

Peace Brothers..... back 8/12

We already have part-time working chicas. Why can't some of us be part-time mongers. Besides, when I think of monger, I think of fish. Go figure.

ummm.... I think if you are humping prostitutes, you are a monger...ya?
Also, isn't it maybe like the alcoholic thing? Once an alcoholic, always one?
even if you don't drink for 20 years, you are still a recovering alcoholic with 20 yrs sober....
So, once a monger always a monger? Or a 'recovering monger' for those with a novia?
I might say that the monger type, with a novia, is simply paying for it with his time and attention instead of cash... although cash is usually involved anyway.... and it is probably not real.... and his interest in her is faked except for the sex part...
Whatever they want to tell themselves.... and yes I am guilty too
Peace

I look forward to Scuba reading this post when he is back from his current adventure. As was said before- in my opinion, if you are having sex with a prostitute in a land far away, your a monger. The nature of the experince is what varies from guy to guy, trip to trip. I also find the use of the word Novia fascinating when we talk about girls who we meet down there. I much perfer GFE, as to me this serves as a good reminder of the reality (damn Diego, there I go again :D ) of the situation. I guess I sort of slip the differnce betwene the hard nosed approach and the losing yourself to the whole GFE thing. I say, enjoy it but don's lose your head(the big one that is).

As I read the posts on this thread, I believe I had changed my stance. Once a monger always a monger. I have always been a staunch opponent of the term "semi pro." My feeling is that if the woman sold her body for money, no matter how often, she is a prostitute. In keeping consistent with that theme, you can't be a "sometimes" monger. Either you are or you are not. So, novia or no novia...you are a monger.
