One great young lady that I met in SJ told me she had a visa when were discussing the U.S. Does this mean she has some kind of clearance to visit the U.S. for a limited period of time?

Gracias for your help,
JJ

If she has a valid tourist (B-2) visa then the answer is yes, she should be able to come and go as she pleases. The visa would take up an entire page in her passport and look very similar to the front inside cover page in the US passport which has your picture on it. They are typically good for either 5 or 10 years (I've seen both). Other visas for business purposes and the infamous K-1 fiancé visa are short term. If she has a B-2 visa, you should hold onto her. These visas are extremely difficult if not impossible for a single woman from Latin America to obtain.
