There are a number of us reading this board who are in the process of learning or improving our Spanish. And I know there are many Spanish speakers out there with varying levels of fluency.

I, for one, would like to encourage all you Spanish speakers to write more in Spanish, particularly trip reports. At the very least, you could sprinkle your posts with generous amounts of Spanish phrases.

Some of you already do this. But I would like to see more of you doing this, and in bigger doses .

Gracias, Racetrack

Thanks, I already learned two new words without a dictionary:

la mayoria & los hermanos

But for the other brothers...not suggesting that this become a Spanish board...but just some good doses of Spanish sprinkled in, with an occasional entire post in Spanish.

YO Linguist Lovefest:

All old Circus had to do was look at the list of posters on this espanol thread and wonder if we had been attacked by aliens. No disrespect to you fellows, you're just presenting a possible idea, but give me a break.

This sounds like a 1st year spanish wanna be contest. HELLO !!! Yes, certain posters enjoy showing their inherent or newly learned language vocabulary and please give my adulation to them. This is an (politically correct Gawd help me) english speaking forum. I'm sure there are spanish speaking forums available on the internet and I know of several that cater to CR. But, let's not make this thread too difficult for the newcomer or dumb old gringos like me.

ENOUGH !!! I have a real problem as it is everytime I go to an ATM here in gringo land and it asks me do I want to communicate in English or Spanish. AND, when I call an insurance, medical, government, what ever the Phuck phone number and the recording asks if I want to punch 1 or 2 for spanish access. Not to mention, whenever I buy some gismo and the instructions come in spanish and 6 other languages. The only clear TV channel I can pick up is the darn spanish one.....ok, the chicas look good but shit. I only have a limited amount of hand job leche.

YEA and I lived in lower Miami for 9 months after Andrew......I know what it is to be a minority.....OK, I have cuban friends but still the language thing persists. Poor G-man in Miami....yea right. Actually, that lady slayer dude sort of looks like a New Jersy Latino......hmmmm, could explain all those chicas he lays.

What did I start this post about. OH ! Writing posts in spanish. I've got it. ADMINS: start a separate category for spanish posts. Let's see how many hits that gets. Certainly wil have my full attention.....Right. Adiossos yoss senures, Poor fabor, Sircos de Pits of Jax. Damn, what a linguist I am.

I can't even get health insurance in this country where I am a citizen, Vietnam veteran, care giver and tax payer. Have been turned down by six insurers and the VA. But dammit, no problem for those who cross the border illegally and can go into a hospital and get the full enchilada treatment at Uncle Sams' and ours expense. (DAMN IT, I spoke a spanish term..... Gawd forbid.) One might say I have an ax to grind. Guilty.

And NO, I'm not bashing those south of the border, I have many friends there and a respect for the latino people along with other foreign cultures from over 40 years of travel.......I just have some issues. And time is running out.
