I couldn't help myself on this one, I think Jackson Browne and the Eagles must have been in San Jose in the 70's Well, I'm running down the road tryin' to loosen my load I've got seven women on my mind, Four that wanna own me, Two that wanna stone me, One says she's a friend of mine Take It easy, take it easy Don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy Lighten up while you still can don't even try to understand Just find a place to make your stand and take it easy Well, I'm a standing on a corner in San Jose, Costa Rica and such a fine sight to see It's a girl, my Lord, with some 38 D's slowin' down to take a look at me Come on, baby, don't say maybe I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me We may lose and we may win even though we will be here again so open up, I'm climbin' in, so take it easy Well I'm running down the road trying to loosen my load, got Gabriella on my mind lookin' for a lover who won't blow my cover, she's so hard to find Take it easy, take it easy don't let the sound of my own wheels make me crazy come on baby, don't say maybe I gotta know that your sweet love is gonna save me, oh oh oh Oh we got it easy We oughta take it easy *Some editing |

Come on now, guys, how could it not be "Love for Sale"? Young (er than me), sweet, tender love for sale? |

The Eagles just finished 4 shows in my little area of Atlanta on Monday night. My Manager went to the Sunday night show. Said they sounded great, did 10 tunes from the new CD and played for about 3 hrs and 15 mintues. More money, more money, more money. As for my personal theme song, another Jackson Browne tune comes to mind: "Rosie"* She was standing at the load-in When the trucks rolled up She was sniffing all around Like a half grown female pup She wasn't hard to talk to Looked like she had nowhere to go So I gave her my pass So she could get in and see the show Well I sat her down right next to me And I got her a beer While I mixed that sound on stage So the band could hear The more I watched her watch them play The less I could think of to say And when they walked off stage The drummer swept that girl away But Rosie you're all right -- you wear my ring When you hold me tight -- Rosie that's my thing When you turn out the light -- I've got to hand it to me Looks like it's me and you again tonight, Rosie Well I guess I might have known from the start She'd come for a star Might have told my imagination not to run too far Of all the times that I've been burned By now you'd think I'd have learned That it's who you look like Not who you are But Rosie you're all right -- you wear my ring When you hold me tight -- Rosie that's my thing When you turn out the light -- I've got to hand it to me Looks like it's me and you again tonight, Rosie * at least until I get back to San Jose. |

Don't usually post twice on the same thread but was just reminded of a song by Joe Tex "Buying a Book". Goes into the May-December thing from both sides of the gender line. Check it out. |

If you want that girl, Listen son don't you sit around and cry Because love, in this world ain't nothin' you can't buy. She's got ruby lips, she's got emerald eyes. She's got diamonds on her mind. If you want that girl, what you need is M-O-N-E-Y. And that's Umm-oh, n-e-y baby Um-oh N-E-Y No finance, no romance. She told me goodby First she took my love, then she took all my M-O-N-E-Y. And that's umm- oh! N-e-y baby, Um-oh, n-e-y _ Lyle Lovett "The Firm" motion picture soundtrack |
