While flying back to the US a few days ago, a woman next to me had a copy of the Nacion, with an article in it about a proposal to eliminate the marriage for residency option. I didn't get to read the story. Did anyone see this, and know what the current situation is? Thanks, Rolex. |

You are scaring me man! Can a bunch of us come over and bond, until this urge goes away? I am aware of no change in the rules. My friends in the state dept know my interests, and probably would have said something. I will ask. |

No, I think you misunderstood my post. I meant marriage for Costa Rican residency. So you can live in CR and not have to leave every 3 months. |

Tex, I wouldn't sweat it. There are much easier, not to mention sane, ways for a Gringo to gain residency status. When it comes to marriage vs dating it is often much cheaper in the long run to rent rather than to own. |

Would you care to elaborate? The next closest I've been able to find is to invest $50k in a tourism related business. |
