I ran across this on a Yahoo Costa Rica discussion group. Unfortunately I was unable to open the link, that is given as the source, so can not authenticate the numbers. However from what I see in CR I have no reason to doubt them.

What do they do?

Agriculture and the like --- 44.2%
Manufacturing Industry --- 9.0%
Commerce, hotels, --- 26.6%
Comunity, social Services --- 9.6%
Other --- 10.6%


Do they get paid?

Family work -non-remunerated -- 43.7%
Salaried -- 40.2%
Own Account -- 11.1%
Other -- 5.1%
