Contact your bank or credit card company before your trip and make notification that you will be using your account in CR. My first trip, I forgot to do this with my bank card and a security hold was placed on the account. It was a little embarrassing and took a day or two to sort out the issue. |

Take all the phone numbers with you as well. In October AMX and Citi bank both blocked my cards even though I had notifed them via email and phone. One call took care of it but it was frustrating. My ATM/Check card I have never had a problem with. |
