Whatever the laws are or what turns you on -- don't borrow trouble. Make sure your partner is legal. I think a lot of laws are silly in many countries, but I try to keep within them wherever I am. It makes life much easier. I can live with an arbitrary 18 cutoff. It certainly beats having everybody illegal like in most of NA. That's really crazy, but I deal with it when in el norte.

Believe it or not my two brothers and I were offered 14 and 16 yr olds as soon as we met some ticas there. We looked at each other with discust and told the offerer NO WAY!!!

I could be wrong but your experience suggests a couple of possibilities. Apparently, they think they can get some business this way and have probably found some takers before. OR, it was some sort of set-up motivated to entrap pedophile tourists or to lay you open to blackmail or extortion if you had accepted. Just a thought.

Here's another, whether you find the idea of sex with minors appealing or disgusting, with all the heat being brought down by the Christian Right and other Moral Crusaders, the US Gov't and, due to the resulting pressure, the local gov'ts involved on Ch*ld sex tourism (rightfully so, but unfortunately also on regular sex tourism by extension) why take the chance of getting caught. I could really care less about what happens to any pedophiles once they find their way into the prison system, except that every case of a foreign tourist engaging in such practices unfairly brings more heat down upon the larger sex tourist market.
