Yesterday morning Grillem and I were having a very pleasant breakfast outside at the Grand Hotel Costa Rica. I noticed that people were going into The Theatro National accross the way. When we finished we went over to see what was going on. The Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica was playing.I have always wanted to hear a concert inside this beautiful building. We asked the ladies in charge if we coild go in.She let us buy half-price fantastic seats (3500 colones each) and hear the second half after intermission. It was a treat that I recommend if any of you have the opportunity. Grillem and I agreed that this was the largest collectiom of chicas in one place that neither of us had ever been with. For those of you wise guys,no I didn'thave sex with the pretty blond who played second violin.
Future schedule
April 8th.......8pm
April 10th.....10:30am
April 22nd.....8pm
April 24th......10:30am

Thanks VB...I have been meaning to do just what you did for a long time. I will try to take in one of the late April concerts.

By the way, I used to be a big fan of the breakfast there until they put up all those damned plants  that block the view of the chicas rushing to work in the am.

29 days and counting...

VB,

I agree with you 100%. Its always nice to take a little time out to experience some of the local culture. Whenever I'm in a foreign country I like to take a little time off of the mongering track to get a feel for the local culture and customs. Its also a great way to meet non working woman.

Hey VB. It kind of gives a new meaning to " Happy Hour ". I will be back down on or about the 31st thru the 11th. I would imagine a fella could take a chica for a performance and then a matinee later on.

Good post VB and I concur the symphony in San Jose is very good for this city and culture. I have gone a couple times and the theatre is a very nice atmosphere to experience the arts. I'm not sure I would take a Delrey girl there...first off, most of them wouldnt know how to dress...or behave. Nothing personal...just the facts. PLUS, I have noticed plenty of nice classy women to gawk at in this environment...though I always do it "with class" . See you at the next concert...

Yes, I concur - Theater National is a great place to enjoy a concert. Saw Phantom there last year. They did one hell of a job..
In addition, I was impressed by the restoration of the theater itself.
Yes, you don't want to take a Del Rey girl there. I was lucky enough to have a lawyer friend at the time and at 40 something, she looked ravishing in a simple little black dress with a string of pearls around her neck.
Its an experience you don't to miss - especially opening night.
LVSteve
PS: Yes, San Tana - April 6th - Tibas stadium (where Saprissa plays)

LV Steve,
I wanted to go a couple of weeks ago to the Andrea Bocelli concert at Tibas Stadium. When I heard that the best seats were $300 each for an outdoor stadium I passed. They must think this is new York City instead of Costa Rica. The interest in this thread tells me that "Mongers have class too" lol

You are so right about the price for Botchelli. I also took a pass.
Overall, I find the prices at the Theater National concerts fair - 25.00 to 30.00 for a lot of the evening concerts (good seats).
