I don’t recall ever see a heater in any of the Costa Rica hotel room. It spring here all year long. Also carbon monoxide detectors only work with gas heater like we have in Texas. |

Miller Gardner, the 14-year-old son of former New York Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner, died from carbon monoxide poisoning during the family's vacation at an upscale Costa Rican resort, authorities in the country revealed. Authorities conducted a blood test for carbon monoxide and found a saturation level of 64% in the teen's body, Costa Rican officials said. Concentrations above 50% are considered lethal. The hotel has not yet commented on the toxicology report, but the hotel previously said high levels of carbon monoxide were detected in an adjacent mechanical room, and were "non-existent" in Miller Gardner's room. https://abcnews.go.com/Health/carbon-mo ... d=75978177 |

That’s interesting for me as I say before. Maybe I never looking for heater switch in my hotel room in fact when I down there in February and November, I turn on AC at night when I go to bed. I guess better safe than sorry. |

More than just heaters can make carbon monoxide. Gas dryers, cars, pool heaters. Anything really that burns fuel, commercial gas ovens. And in Costa Rica, I suspect that many times these things are not well maintained. I'm thinking, even just a truck running for too long outside or under your bedroom could cause an issue. |

So I guess that the name of this upscale resort will not be revealed. I would like to know as this is a hotel I would like to avoid. |
