dear to our hearts?

I'm in agreement Tuanis.

Less lives lost than 9/11 however the almost total destruction of our Pacific Fleet beyond comprehension.

I think today with so much time passed, younger population with less and less living when it happened (and their parents/grandparents etc.) it very unfortunately gets forgotten. :o And also ALL the current threats and most everyone absorbed with current events social media etc. it gets forgotten.

However if any history should be recalled it is events such as this that teach to hopefully NEVER let the guard down again. Hopefully we as a country do not let our guard down like this any more.

I took a vacation to Honolulu 5 yrs. ago & the highlight of the trip was the day exploring the history of wwII. The battleship Missouri where the japs surrendered, the punchbowl cemetery, the Pearl Harbor visitors center & a boat ride out to the Arizona memorial. Quite an overwhelming experience, more important than any mongering trip I have been on. My father fought the krauts in North Africa in wwII but would barely speak of it to his family. The experience magnified that war, truly is hell.
