I'm in agreement Tuanis. Less lives lost than 9/11 however the almost total destruction of our Pacific Fleet beyond comprehension. I think today with so much time passed, younger population with less and less living when it happened (and their parents/grandparents etc.) it very unfortunately gets forgotten. ![]() However if any history should be recalled it is events such as this that teach to hopefully NEVER let the guard down again. Hopefully we as a country do not let our guard down like this any more. |

I took a vacation to Honolulu 5 yrs. ago & the highlight of the trip was the day exploring the history of wwII. The battleship Missouri where the japs surrendered, the punchbowl cemetery, the Pearl Harbor visitors center & a boat ride out to the Arizona memorial. Quite an overwhelming experience, more important than any mongering trip I have been on. My father fought the krauts in North Africa in wwII but would barely speak of it to his family. The experience magnified that war, truly is hell. |
