I know the short answer is social media, but I really don't understand that answer. I doubt I'd be in CR today if I hadn't started reading the old RedSnake board (mostly about Tijuana) almost 30 years ago. Then during the time I was a once a year visitor to San Jose, reading people's questions and stories on CRT, and occasionally chiming in, really helped me make a place in my own head to be in this city. There were always some sharp elbows thrown, but all in all there was the pleasure of a bunch of guys kind of sharing a secret and kind of trying to help each other out. I miss that, and I wonder how a young me today would be able to take in the same kind of information and vibe. |

Different people will tell you different things but a straight line can pretty much be drawn to a couple of guys bent on taking the hobby to the masses. One was a douchey tech guy and the other liked having his face and thoughts on what makes a great monger plastered all over the web. It embarrassed people and eventually led to the shutting down of multiple scenes in multiple countries. Not to mention getting himself thrown in CR prison while the douchey tech scrambled like a cockroach. Possibly things were coming down the pipe anyway but that for sure is what most saw take a baseball bat to the shins of the scene(s). Now guys lay low and a small percentage of them still come around to pick the crumbs of a once vibrant scene. Mostly there are smaller groups that know each other talking on whatsapp but definitely nothing that would advise the curious like it was before. Still a nice TJ centric site out there but their main focus is zona rio. |

I would imagine guys are afraid to share. As you can see with what has happened to the scene in Medellin, once too many people catch on to a place, they ruin it for everyone. If you search the right places on Youtube you can find footage from inside some of our favorite destinations in CR which is pretty discouraging. There is no respect for privacy and guys don't follow code anymore. They have no problem putting everything on social media and sharing what was previously sacred on youtube. |

But then again, most guys do not post about P4P on their social media accounts; particularly if they are under their IRL name. Well, most don't talk about it very overtly, but a few of them do. |

Guys now are on whats app groups discord etc. Funny enough guys on forums were the hardcore guys these day more guys are into mongering as it's went mainstream as another poster pointed out you can see all locations on creep cam videos on youtube but the message boards have kinda dried up. The only boards still going are ISG and the Pattaya form I'm on but I've noticed the BM quality has gone down. |

Is there a Costa Rica Ticas discord? Also, are there any other latin american discords that are good? Sad to see such a vibrant and enjoyable message board slowly fade away. Sigh. |
