A murder at the front door of the Taormina is not an issue for anyone on this board? Has nothing to do with the murder rate in anywhere.

But if you want to bring up murder rates how about the 9 other murders in Costa Rica during the past week. I don't know how it compares to the US or Orlando in particular. All I know is that the increase in Costa Rica over the last few years is not trivial, and it is nice to say that it can't affect me..

Personally this is pretty scary. Not surprising given the number of drug deals going down in front of the hotel. When I get tired of the loud pounding music and the outrageously priced drinks I usually sneak out front and grab a smoke. Doubt if I'll be doing this in the future as I'd hate to get caught in the crossfire.

It won't keep me from visiting the Taormina but I definitely won't be hanging out in front of the hotel.

Nothing new. Just drug or chica related Ticos. They do not target tourist.
Been coming over 13 years and always hear about a stabbing or shooting here and there. Same use to happen at Del Ray.

They will probably post a police presence for a while at Taormina then they will go away again after a few weeks/months.

Honestly just same ole same ole.

Ya they aren’t targeting turistas. But as in the Mexican border towns, you could get caught in crossfire.

Honestly, it is risky... You can get in the middle of a situation like that and everything can go down the drain.... It makes you think about it.
