Admin,
I'd like to start using this program at my new http://www.whorticulture.info. The maps I'm working on, not to mention the many other features I hope to soon be adding (moving my CRT calender over to it, bringing back my old latin music section, a completely new series of salsa dance lesson mpegs, etc.), will always be a free benefit for VIP members. And the many hours involved I don't mind providing for free as I enjoy that sort of thing. But I wouldn't mind defraying some of the few fixed costs of hosting that site (and hopefully expanding its filespace & bandwidth as I add to it and more people access it).

My hope is that those who aren't already VIP's and who come across my home page through other means, or even if they heard of my site through CRT, can join CRT using my site as a referrer as a means of gaining full access to my site as well as the many other benefits here at CRT and also as a means of supporting my work and further developments. Incidentally, I also intend to donate any excess revenue my site might generate over the few fixed costs to a CR charity (NOT Casa Alianza) so it will always truly be a not-for-profit site.

The problem for me and anyone else that wants to join this affiliate program is that the banner ads and html code only provide links to the CRT home page. There is no indication of EPC (earnings per click) and there is no space for indication of referrer on your join form. So how do we get credit?

I believe the article itself that I had linked to had the breakdown of the affiliate program etc.

I'm out of the country right now and can't really check into things, but will get a better breakdown of program and how it works.

I will say once you join as an affiliate, then the codes you generate will be with your unique affiliate ID! If anyone gets to CRT and subsequently pays as a VIP you earn commission. Its auto tracked and you can follow your clicks through inside the affiliate program.

the other item is I fully will take the expense of hosting and bandwidth etc on the map when I get it on our server. I will speak to you next week regarding this.
Thanks
NOW BACK TO THE GAROTAS

My bad. I see how the click tracking works now that I've added a CRT banner to my home page and tested it. Presumably, once it is used it leaves an (innocuous) cookie on the clicker's PC which then gets read if he subsequently joins. DOES ANY ONE WANT TO TEST THIS FOR ME  ?

I appreciate your offer to absorb the costs of my site and provide hosting, but I'd still like to include a fundraising element to the section as both a gauge to whether I should expand my efforts and also as means for CRT'ers to become involved in giving something back to Costa Rica in some sort of organized fashion (sort of like the check-off box for campaign funds on your taxes or when you register your car)

BTW, sorry to disturb your vacation. I'm sure you have better things to do down there.

Also, when are we going to see a http://www.cariocagarotas.com or CRG for short. I checked and it is still available (better grab it). Is this some sort of tax deductible business research trip you are doing? :P

Just to let everyone know our Affiliate program is in full swing. We have had several of our affiliate members already reaping the benefits of sales where they will be receiving commission checks as well as extended VIP benefits once they hit a certain Quota!

Thanks to everyone who have joined! Remember this program is open to all!
