Have confirmed that the Costa Rican Presidential election will take place on Super Bowl Sunday

This is going to put a major crimp in the usual business plans of the gringo bars. Not sure how they are going to handle it and what qualifies as a private party under CR law.

Admin1 said he was planning the annual CRT Super Bowl bash  :D .

Tough luck for those guys who have decided not to be VIP members.

If like the 2002 election, which was on super bowl SUNDAY, the bars were closed the day before and the day after the election. There are ways around this, private parties. The Park hotel was open for business all three days. What dose this have to do with being a VIP member? SEAHAWK

Thanks for the Update Doesn't affect us any which way, as we are having a private party and renting the hall so what we do on our time will be up to us......

Guess we will have more than the normal number of members in attendance next year... Better start getting those reservations ready!

AS THE CRT VIP SUPERBOWL BASH 2006 WILL BE THE "ONLY" PLACE TO BE!

In answer to Seahawks Question our Superbowl parties are for VIP's only.

I have been in Cr for the last 6 Super Bowls. The last three I watched the game at the Horseshoe. They always have a great spread of drinks and food FREE. All you have to do is make a bet. I'm sure the Horseshoe is not going to close for the election. The worst that can happen, to some, is that they may not serve alcohal. SEAHAWK

Glad to hear that there will be no problem, we all know what a fine upstanding, law abiding citizen Bill is  . Sure that, even though he no longer on the scene, similar individuals will step up to the plate. :P
